Has anyone ever had this done. had your cheek swabbed and sent in for a DNA scan?

im interested in doing it for some good reasons. :alien:

no seriously,....

i have an uncanny resemblance to the mailman.

thats not true either. but i do have some asian features and yet red hair and want to research my background via genecitally.

and im looking for some tips for the best sites,. id also like to hear what your opinions are if you had it done.

was it shocking? impressive? confirming? waste of money? do tell.

Me! My mom and I are going to do it through National Geographic. She said she'd pay (her idea to begin with), so why not then I say! I'm looking forward to it. I'm second gen American on my dad's side and would like to learn more of where I come from on his side. She just got done moving so thanks for reminding me to remind her.

All I know it is very expensive, I've heard of stories starting at $10,000 upwards.

I would love to see where I come from to the perticulars but do not want that information for the public's/gov's use. I have no recorded dna or fingerprints with any government or other body and wish to keep it that way. Quite a few reservations about that, stemming from all different directions.
