Los Caporales Nightclub Legend

The Regency Hotel (now a student housing here in Denver) had a nightclub called "Los Caporales". It is said that one saturday, a handsome cowboy arrived at the nightclub, and in the basement of the nightclub, he got on the mechanical bull, and as it went faster and faster, one of the cowboys boots fell, revealing a hoof! It was the Devil!

Here's the whole story:

I first heard of this story back when I was around 9 or 10 years old, though I am not sure if it happened or not. That is why I am posting it here in Urban Legends. The hotel/nightclub is located right next to I-70 in Downtown Denver. I have seen it many times, and just thinking about that story gives me the chills.

The Regency Hotel and nightclub is now a Student housing, and more buildings are being built next to it. If one of these days I pass by it I will take pics and post them here. Maybe if I can find a before and after (Hotel to student housing) I will post the pics. :)

How would he even be able to keep a boot on over a hoof?.. Wouldn't he end up just walking out of them.?...

Heheheh Taun, the devil got magic. Or maybe his pants were so tight they held the boots on :) I thought the article was pretty interesting, because there was more than one devil story.. And then it went on into the current owner letting the place fall to crap. Or at least current at the time of the article.

I've got a buddy that swears that event happened in a place called Casino Dallas here in DFW back in the mid to early 90's. Of course, the place isn't there any more but the story obviously lingered as there were other people that swore to that too. I don't know but I've heard this story in other variations where he's dancing with the finest lady there and appears as a fine gentleman and after some time, she notices that they are above the ground floating and his feet are now visible and are like a chicken's legs with talons and scaly.

My grandma told us a story about a friend of a relative of mine long ago (can't remember which at the time) that was out late carousing around town chasing women when he suddenly spotted a most lovely woman walking away down a street. She had long blond or black (can't remember) curling hair and a heck of a body but she never turned around when he was calling her and following her. Finally, after all his attempts to get her attention failed, he grabbed her hair which felt like horse hair and pulled her back forcing her to turn her head and when she did, that's when he saw she had the face of a horse. Of course, he high-tailed it back home and repented his ways, but it made for a good story... supposedly true...
