LostSouls7 Posted June 3, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 3, 2013 All my life I have wondered why is a raven like a writing Desk? Perhaps The Raven from the poem symolizes the writing Desk where Poe wrote his masterpiece. That is the only conclusion I could come up with. I would like to hear what you all think is the answer. SHaYap Posted June 3, 2013 #2 Share Posted June 3, 2013 (edited) Alice asked for an answer ... but for the life of me I can't remember what it was ... it was at the end the movie ... I think the Mad Hatter said ... "I haven't the slightest idea ..... " or something like it ... but I like this answer or closest to an answer best : In an introduction to a later edition of the book, Lewis Carroll addressed the issue, saying “Because it can produce a few notes, tho they are very flat; and it is never put with the wrong end in front!” In the original preface, “never” was spelled “nevar,” which is “raven” backwards. Carroll's pun was unfortunately lost to the red pen of a proofreader, confusing the issue of the riddle even further. link ~edit : typonese Edited June 3, 2013 by third_eye

LostSouls7 Posted June 6, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted June 6, 2013 You're right! That's why I love to discuss ideas and Philosophy with others. What come up with and conclude in my own mind, is now always the right answer! But you are right some think they are never wrong or their ideas are the only possible ones. I always enjoy leanring more from others who know more or are wiser than me
