Investigators say Murphy told them she was thought the girl was trying to kill her, so she wanted to kill the child in self-defense. According to court documents obtained by The News Tribune, Murphy also said she was "having her first exorcism" and "she threw [the girl] on the ground because she thought she was traveling to another dimension and [Murphy] was trying to save her."

Doctors say Murphy told them she was "in a house of mirrors with Hitler," according to Puyallup Patch.

The baby, who suffered facial injuries, is in protective custody.

Sad, another infant at the hands of someone mentally disturbed ... I hope this women gets help, but at the same time, the infant is better off in protective custody....Hopefully this baby will soon have someone who can love her and take care of her in the way she needs..
