Classic Rock Workout Music

Ok, I quit smoking 19 months ago and I can now run further that 15 feet without having a heart attack. LOL. In fact, I'm up to running 3.5 miles a day and working with a trainer twice a week on other stuff and junk. I need running music! I like rock, classic rock mostly, classic metal (none of the new scream-o death metal etc...) and classic Punk. I want it fast paced or at least rhythmic with a clear steady quick beat or a solid rolling beat.

This is what I have on my playlist already:

Cadillac Rock Box -- Anthrax

E=MC2 -- Big Audio Dynomite

Crazy B!+ch -- Buckcherry

California Uber Alles -- Dead Kennedy's

Relax -- Frankie Goes to Hollywood

Creepin' up the Backstairs -- The Fratellis

My Sharona -- The Knack

Immigrant Song -- Led Zeppelin

Are you Gonna Go My Way -- Lenny Kravitz

Highway Star -- Metal Church

Shout at the Devil -- Motley Crue

Dancing on your Grave -- Motorhead

Blitzkreig Bop -- Ramones

Cotton Eyed Joe -- Rednex

Freewill -- Rush

All I Know -- Screaming Trees

Walking on the Sun -- Smashmouth

Jesus Christ Pose -- Soundgarden

Birth Ritual -- Soundgarden

If the House is a Rockin' -- SRV

You Wreck Me -- Tom Petty

Listen to Her Heart -- Tom Petty

Buddy Holly -- Wheezer

Psycho Killer -- Talking Heads

Spoon Man -- Soundgarden

I Wanna Be Sedated -- Ramones

Summer in the City -- Lovin' Spoonful (mostly warm up or down)

Trooper -- Iron Maiden

Run to the Hills -- Iron Maiden

Baby Fratelli -- Fratellis

Police Truck -- Dead Kennedy's

Surrender -- Cheap Trick

Strobe Light -- B52s

What Do You Do for Money -- ACDC

WCFYA -- Anthrax

Any other suggestions? I'd appreciate them! :)

Let's go with the stereotypes - the Rocky films had their share of great clips. Of particular note (in my personally biased opinion) are two:

I'm also pretty sure that Rocky also used another workout favourite in Rocky III -

Whatever the case, both songs are motivational rock songs to consider  Outside of that, I'm not really the person to ask about this, I've never been a fitness guru (that's an understatement if I ever saw one).

This one can motivate a lame person to run. If you don't run to this tune you will never run. :)

I like this version though, when we can see the sweat and effort. >>

Two others that might get you running.

The chugga-chugga train-beat of Kickstart My Heart is a given if you want to keep your pulse up.

This one will have you running 'til you're stone cold crazy.

Ooooo! Some really good ideas here! LOVE LOVE LOVE the Fastway! I kinda love Fastway as a general rule anyway!!

Excellent ideas all! I'm doin' some music shoppin' tonight I can tell!

Well, after I watch the feeds for Mudhoney playing on TOP of the Spaceneedle in about 15 minutes... they're harnessing the band to the roof, and they're going to play live. This should be WILD. It's never been done before. They Saturday, we'll go see them play at a street fair for a Subpop anniversary along with Soundgarden. Should be fun!

If anyone wants to watch it live you should be able to see it in 15 minutes exactly;

If you want some running-beats that are not just rock/hardrock there is lots to pick from.

This one, Pauls Theme from Cat People is an excellent tune to run to on a rainy night, pounding feet on empty streets, just for the mood of it. :)

and who doesn't want to run when you are listening to this one. :) >>>
