New atomic clock could 'redefine the second'

Scientists say they have found a more accurate way to measure time.

We currently use atomic clocks to count the seconds, but tests on an alternative atomic timekeeper have revealed that it is more precise.

The French researchers said the clocks, which are called optical lattice clocks, lost just one second every 300 million years.

regarding seconds:

grade 7 french:

young female teacher: " Lou, would you please stand and give your oral presentation"

me: "just a sec"

her: " I don't have no secs!"

me: "sorry to hear it" And time in detention was not fleeting!
