Peter Fotis Kapnistos: The US government is reportedly collecting the phone records of millions of people, according to leaked information from whistle-blower Edward Snowden. It has likewise recently emerged that Israeli magician and psychic Uri Geller worked as a CIA spy, according to a new documentary. But is Uri Geller an "alien" agent? Uri Geller rose to fame in the 1970s by staring at spoons and apparently bending them with his psychic powers. But while he was wowing TV audiences, did he have an even more amazing career: working as a spy for the CIA and Mossad? A new British documentary contends that Geller was recruited to work with U.S. intelligence agencies to help in a "psychic arms race" with the U.S.S.R. during the Cold War. "The Secret Life of Uri Geller-Psychic Spy?" by Vikram Jayanti, says Geller used his powers against Russia, including erasing Soviet floppy discs and changing the mind of an unnamed Russian leader in order to convince him to sign a nuclear arms reduction treaty, The Independent reported.

Well, if we did hire him - we sure didn't get our money's worth....

This guy is as psychic as a goldfish (the cracker - not the animal)...

I don't know.. but I guess it's a possibilty. I've read somewhere that the CIA decades ago was trying to recruit agents with psychic abilities but that this program never went far and was closed for it costed much and wasn't very effective.

And here, watch as he slips a fake magnet-loaded thumbtip on, at 57 sec into the video. Unfortunately the director who was supposed to be showing a head shot or the audience, managed instead to catch Uri out...

LMAO at you using a YouTube video as 'evidence'....

Really?......would you like to show us the magnet-loaded thumb tip?....I've gone through the relevant bit starting at 0:57 and it's hard

to make anything out. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if there was some photo-shopping going on....when you go through frame by frame

it looks like it, to me.

Did Randi ever use this video as proof of supposed fraud? I doubt it because it's so vague and relies on people like you implanting the thought.

You are so definite about it....show us the proof....

And what you say about the director....are you psychic as well now.....lol.....how do you know what the director's intentions or instructions were?

And what about all the people in the audience and on stage...wouldn't they have spotted something amiss?

No....sorry Psyche and Chrlzs...those videos prove NOTHING. .. :hmm:...except your addiction to debunking.... :)

I expect Uri would have been an ideal candidate for psychic spying work and his shows would have taken him all over the world.

Whoosh... see below..

...would you like to show us the magnet-loaded thumb tip?....I've gone through the relevant bit starting at 0:57 and it's hard to make anything out.

So, you laugh at it being on Youtube, but then you delve right in..

In fact I wouldn't be surprised if there was some photo-shopping going on....when you go through frame by frame it looks like it, to me.

Wow, another wild handwave? Do tell, what exactly 'looks like it', and what experience do you have in editing and analysing videos? Not much, I would suggest, if you think Photoshop would be the software used... And you do realise that this is simply a video recording of a series that is relatively easy to find and verify (in Israel, at least)?

Did Randi ever use this video as proof of supposed fraud? I doubt it because it's so vague and relies on people like you implanting the thought.

Actually, he did, and in fact there is much more to the tale.. - you go see if you can find it. (I can play these games too.)

You are so definite about it....show us the proof....

I have no proof that you would accept... My point was well made by your response.

And what you say about the director....are you psychic as well now.....lol.....how do you know what the director's intentions or instructions were?

I'm glad you raised that - in doing so it appears you accept that Geller was indeed busted (you're making the debunk very easy, thanks). My theory, conspiratorially speaking, is that he had a guilty conscience after seeing so many of Geller's deceptions and wanted to lay some clues down. Surely you can relate to that... :D

And what about all the people in the audience and on stage...wouldn't they have spotted something amiss?

Sigh.

1. They came to be entertained - rather like those who play along in those ridiculous hypnosis shows

2. If anyone had jumped up, the cameras would stop, they would be impolitely escorted from the studio and the segment would be restarted. These weren't live-to-air shows....

You name it, there's a charlatan ready to fleece the gullible. Some of it is relatively harmless, a bit like having an open mind. Trouble is, these fakers play the game for money and as you should know, Bee, if your mind is too open, your brains fall out... Tell me, what do you think of Peter Popoff - was he a good role model for this sort of stuff? He's back in the game now - good on him, eh?

sorry Psyche and Chrlzs...those videos prove NOTHING. ..

TADAAHH!! Bee now sees the light - Youtube videos mean nothing - they must be backed up by evidence.

I'm going to be quoting that post often in future, I suspect...

So where's the thumb thingy then Chrlzs? Let's see it.

As you know I've got nothing against YouTube being used to present information. But Psyche in particular goes on and on about it,

and mocks it....and then...................................uses it...lol. Same goes for you more or less.

Your whole post replying to me was avoidance... let's see the thumb thingy Chrlzs....in close up, if you please....

Anyway here's a better video showing Uri at Standford Reasearch Istitute in 1972.....first part

Once (or IF) that first WHOOOSH! in my post above sinks in, perhaps you will work out why I won't be posting 'proof' for you.

Read it all again, and see if you can detect the telltale odour of... bait.

Hook line and sinker, as they say... If you prefer to think of it as avoidance, well, good for you.

Right now, I'm off to do some more reesurch by watching more youtube videos that were recommended for me.. yes, that's the tikkut to enlightningment....

Uri is such a character...I love him and I do think he has 'special powers'

Although many people could have the potential for these 'special powers' ...hence the problem re. the chaos this could bring

in the Computer Age....

@SuperDarkboy.... lol.... :rolleyes:

Uri Geller was one of my first encounters with the paranormal.

He is as fake as all the other woo woos, of course, but he is kinda funny to look at.

His ass was also ripped apart on Jonny Carson.
