UK Seahorses in danger of being wiped out

Still Waters

The largest colony of seahorses in Britain has been wiped out after their habitat was destroyed by pleasure boat sailors, it was claimed yesterday.

Studland Bay in Dorset had been the only place in the country where two species of native seahorses lived.

But the delicate environment has been destroyed by the number of pleasure boats that moor in the area in fine weather.
