Hilarious, and bizarre that so many think the religion of Israel is Muslim. I wonder how many of these Einsteins could even point to their city on a map, or even their country, which many do not seem to know the name of.........

It's just like Joe Rogan said, wave a flag and play a country song and we're the greatest in the world and woohoo, yeah it feels good. Who cares about knowledge? The endorphins we get from all the BS we believe in is so much more appealing.

Yep. But in other countries stupidity is treated, not instituted as a way of living.

It's not about differences in IQ, it's about an endemic indoctrination to leave everything to the government and not to care. I'm all for people-intervention because that's not going to be done by force. Instead, we get the polar opposite. When you consider how interventionist the US government is in the world, Americans should be #1 in their Geography skills by far.

Not.

And we see how easy it was for "Borat"

Borat exposed it brilliantly.

What I'm starting to figure out is that the core problem with this country isn't the government. Our government is but a symptom of the problem, not the source. The source is the people. Politicians aren't leaders, they're followers. They're cheap-minded shills ready to sell their souls for the biggest quickest buck. Politicians cave into real change only when the people demand them to. We see the same pattern in every great example of social change throughout our history, but we always get another greasy-palmed liar with a friendly face and a good speech to dress up in a suit and stand up on a podium and take the credit for initiating the bill that nobody knew was a good idea yet, and people everywhere are fooled into thinking "Yeah we need that guy! We need to be led by giant government! Whatever government knows, it can keep it to itself."

So we put our hands on our hearts and pray to the flag 2,000 times in a row in the public school system, it's all on auto-pilot man. Press the button, fly the flag, send the kids off to their deaths and enjoy not having to pay taxes on those "Supplementals". The soldiers that come back from the battlefield can pay for the war again with their earnings plus interest.

Elemental my dear Watson. Everywhere there where people get to elect their representatives the problem is not the government, it is the knuckleheads who voted them in. Screaming about the government is just one way to claim ignorance about your own responsibility.

Yet it's a risky endeavor to take on the government. Please don't chide us for exaggerating when we treat it like a battle because it very much is. This many years of letting the system work its magic will get us put in a cage for disobeying the system we're otherwise indoctrinated into complicity for.

War is God's way of teaching Americans geography.

So God's a poor teacher or we're learning disabled. That's why we haven't won a war since 1945, and the Soviet Union did the most heavy-lifting then.

Americans are as ignorant and ill-informed as they choose to be: Many would rather watch American Idol, Survivor or a portion of the mind-numbing MLB/NFL/NBA/NHL/NASCAR conglomerate than read a book.

What Arbeno168 posted was a joke.. - War is God's way of teaching Americans geography. .. Printed on bumper stickers, and on t-shirts for $16.95 - http://www.wickedt-s...al designs.html Almost everyone knows this one liner.. There are other ones that read - If you want to teach an American geography, send them to war.. I see them as jokes and nothing more..I don't think anyone takes them seriously..

I went over there a few years back (I have family there) and no joke, in some places there are adults that seemingly have the knowledge level of a child. I don't mean they are just stupid, but some of the questions about the "outside world" and other cultures etc I would only expect from kids back home. Some of them are genuinly scared of Arabs and Muslims, which is quite shocking.

I had kind of wondered that too. The video was done by a comedian, so I'm willing to bet he picked the worst to put into the video.

Man, I need to start reading more stuff this guy posts here. He is constantly dishonest and disingenuous. These bits are funny and certainly some of those folk are stupid but what we don’t see is the setup and the editing that goes on. Now I was able to answer all those questions easily but I also was not in front of the camera. People freeze in front of the camera. And if you start them off with a really difficult question that most could not answer, that throws off their confidence and concentration and that causes them to make some really stupid answers for the rest of the interview.

No doubt most of the really stupid ones voted for Obama but these are also the ones that don’t understand the necessity or importance of getting involved in trouble spots across the globe. Yamato is one of these. He will use just anything whether it is factual of not to support his misguided worldview. Just as long as it sounds good to the low information voter. I caught him outright misusing two quotes from Eisenhower and questionable uses of quotes from Jefferson and Madison. And when countered with quotes from Washington, he becomes like a deer in the headlights.

Just call him on his crusade and rub his nose in it. Do that every time he pulls this kind of crap. This guy a poster child for snopes and number 1 follower of urban legends.

More partisan rhetoric ad hominem, as always.

Do it, statist. Rub my nose in it. I've had the unique displeasure of knowing your true colors for years longer than probably anyone else on this forum. You were a soapbox for George W. Bush for years before you showed up here. Now you've actually fooled a few honest people into thinking you're some kind of fiscal conservative fighting against the forces of socialism. You defended every statist decree that George W. Bush raised up the flagpole. As soon as there's another red leader in the White House, you'll be back to showing your true colors again.

No principle, only partisanship. That's you, in a nutshell.

Let's review the difference between principle and partisanship again because over the years, it seems to slip away.

Poorly educated people make poor decisions. The sad part is when the "system" says they are solidly educated and no one points out the the "sliding scale" continues to move.

I still believe in the "dumbing down" courtesy of our Federal Education system. In my opinion..."No child left behind" has accomplished "no child gets ahead". This is my opinion from personal observation and conversation. Do I have any real "facts" to back this up?...nope. It's my opinion and no amount of counter rhetoric is going to change that. I came to this conclusion from years of talking to people...I am entitled to my opinion and I will keep it...you are free to disagree with me...i don't care.

Your entire thesis is, obviously, in complete and utter disarray. Why?

You used an ignorant American as a reference.

The entire thread is about how stupid Americans are, yet I (an American) have to explain what I meant to you?

Are you American, or what? LOL
