A former head of MI6 has threatened to expose the secrets of the ‘dodgy dossier’ if he disagrees with the long-awaited findings of the Chilcot Inquiry into the UK’s role in the Iraq War.
Sources close to Sir Richard said that he insists Chilcot should recognise the role played by Tony Blair and the Prime Minister's chief spokesman Alastair Campbell in informing media reports which suggested Saddam could use chemical weapons to target British troops based in Cyprus, a claim which led to Britain entering the war in Iraq.

Sir Richard is said to remain extremely unhappy that this piece of intelligence, which his agents stressed only referred to battlefield munitions which had a much shorter range, led to media reports that UK bases were under threat.

However, he accepts that some of MI6's information on the WMDs was inaccurate, the Mail on Sunday reported.

Mr Blair and Mr Campbell have repeatedly denied making misleading statements about WMD.

I think it's fair to say that...

Most people in Britain think that Blair (and Campbell) conned parliament and the British people into going to war.

Oh cmon, when was the last time a politician was killed because they were crooked like this? It'd be less safe for those who wish to expose them. Unless someone really gets fed up with this stuff.

Hold on, the long-awaited findings of the Chilcot Inquiry into the UK’s role in the Iraq War?

What on earth was there that took ten years to find out? The man invaded a country that was no conceivable threat to anyone else purely because he wanted to be sure of his "place in history". Everyone knew ten years ago that he was a war criminal, but no one has ever done anything about it. Why has no one ever done anything about it? They even let the man become a "goodwill Ambassador" or whatever crap they gave him to put him out to grass honourably. Why has he never been arrested for war crimes?

Actually this is a fine example of how it's not the Intelligence services themselves that are evil, but the Governments that either twist the information they provide them with to suit their own purposes, or ignore the information they're provided with to suit their own purposes, are.

lol....Sir Wearer of Hats hinted at the subject of someone getting bumped off....

Sir Richard Dearlove has fired a verbal warning shot.....re the dodgy dossier.

We will see how it plays out.

Let's put it like this....if the strain got too much for Blair and he had a heart attack or something, depending on what the final report says...

The British public, especially the families of the dead and injured soldiers.....might think he got his just deserts.

It's obviously a difficult job being PM...but to shamelessly mislead parliament and the Public on something like going to war is not easy to forgive.

Financed, would be more appropriate don't you think. He's getting paid mega money for swanning around flashing his toothpaste smile to Middle Eastern heads of state and probably getting free grub, and we are paying out taxes to support this. its FUBAR.

Giving him the position of peace envoy to the middle east was a definite strategic signal to the leaders of the arab world to go **** themselves.

I wonder if he has attempted to visit Iraq or Iran on his merry carnival ?
