Still Waters Posted August 15, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 15, 2013 If Bolivia's public records are correct, Carmelo Flores Laura, who turned 123 a month ago, is the oldest living person ever documented. The native Aymara lives in a straw-roofed, dirt-floor hut, in an isolated hamlet near Lake Titicaca at 13,100 feet. He has never been farther afield than capital city La Paz, 80 kilometres away, and has never been seriously ill. http://www.telegraph...to-survive.html

Gunn Posted August 16, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 16, 2013 One day we may see a headline saying "Worlds oldest person turns 130 years-old!", with a birth record as proof. I can't imagine that, but I don't think it's impossible.
seeder Posted September 4, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 4, 2013 (edited) OK this guy looks the part, but can it be true? Id have thought coca leaves being a stimulant may have messed with heart along the line? 123-year-old Bolivian farmer on ancient diet is alive and kicking Meet Bolivian indigenous farmer Carmelo Flores, who could be the oldest person to have ever lived. What's his secret? Not vitamin supplements, protein shakes or a gym membership. No, he attributes his longevity to quinoa grains, riverside mushrooms and around-the-clock chewing of coca leaves. Speaking in the 4,000-metre high hamlet in Frasquia, where he lives in a straw-roofed hut, Carmelo says a traditional Andean diet has kept him alive for 123 years. http://yourhealth.as...ive-and-kicking and World's oldest man claim for '123-year-old' Bolivian herder If Bolivia's public records are to be believed, Carmelo Flores Laura is the oldest living person ever documented, at 123 years old. http://www.telegraph...ian-herder.html Edited September 4, 2013 by Still Waters Removed copyrighted images

Still Waters Posted September 4, 2013 Author #6 Share Posted September 4, 2013 whoops, I searched on 'oldest man' before posting, but the title of the merged OP was 'oldest person' my bad It's always best to use keywords from the articles when searching. I found it by typing in the guy's name Carmelo Flores Laura or Carmelo Flores. They both work.
