Waspie_Dwarf Posted August 20, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 20, 2013 World space agencies publish roadmap for future space exploration Space agencies from around the world have been working together to update the Global Exploration Roadmap (GER) - an international effort to define feasible and sustainable exploration approaches to the Moon, near-Earth asteroids, and Mars.Developed by the International Space Exploration Coordination Group (ISECG) and first released in September 2011, the GER was revised in August 2013 to reflect updated plans and programmes. The new version of the Roadmap identifies a conceptual mission scenario that demonstrates how missions in the lunar vicinity can help us prepare for international missions to Mars in the 2030 timeframe, whilst enabling important discoveries along the way. The roadmap also demonstrates the importance of the International Space Station as a bridge to explore destinations beyond low-Earth orbit and serves as a useful reference for agencies to inform their planning of space exploration programmes.
