Plague of wasps follows cold British winter

Still Waters

Britain is being plagued by an explosion in the wasp population triggered by the cold winter and late spring, experts have warned.

Millions of the insects are emerging from their nests and taking to the skies around three weeks later than normal.

Following an undisturbed hibernation due to the low winter temperatures, they are said to be stronger in number than in the last few years.
