Eldorado Posted August 30, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 30, 2013 Kim Jong-un's ex-girlfriend was among a dozen well-known North Korean performers who were executed by firing squad nine days ago, according to South Korean reports. Hyon Song-wol, a singer, rumoured to be a former lover of the North Korean leader, is said to have been arrested on Aug 17 with 11 others for violating laws against pornography. All 12 were machine-gunned three days later, with other members of North Korea's most famous pop groups and their immediate families forced to watch. The onlookers were then sent to prison camps, victims of the regime's assumption of guilt by association, the reports stated. Wickian Posted August 30, 2013 #7 Share Posted August 30, 2013 What laws did she break again? Looking at pornography? Seems like a trumped up law the government made as a backup plan whenever they have someone they want to kill.

Why won't the people of the country rise to put this man behind bars where he belongs? Edited August 30, 2013 by Ever After

cacoseraph Posted August 31, 2013 #14 Share Posted August 31, 2013 North Korea is a joke and their army basically sucks in every way possible except precision marching... but a hot war with them would just be horrendously ugly and involve terrible civilian casualties on both sides. For now, NK is content to mostly posture and take their handouts like a good(ish) failing dictatorship. However, I think if they were pushed too hard they might end up doing something big and regrettable. Also, they probably can't deliver an actual nuclear reaction powered device, but I think some nasty dirty bombs are well within their capability. That kind of thing makes clean up after a war so much more costly and terrible.
PlanB Posted August 31, 2013 #15 Share Posted August 31, 2013 In addition to the machine gunning of his ex, folks might've glossed over the part where he had someone executed by mortar. BY A FREAKIN' MORTAR! What the hell did you say to him while you were there, Dennis Rodman?!
Kaa-Tzik Posted August 31, 2013 #16 Share Posted August 31, 2013 (edited) I know what comes from Pyongyang is bluster, but they do actually say they will do "bad stuff", or at least heavily suggest that they will. It is also beyond doubt that they have been murdering their own people for decades. This regime makes Assad seem pretty tame. So why is America going to wage war against Syria without one single national security reason, despite Kerry's lies yesterday, and North Korea is left alone and treated as a joke. Are the lives of North Koreans worth less than those of Syrians? are human rights only for some and not all. Syria is fighting a civil war and is in no position to make war on any of it's neighbours beyond launching some Scuds into Israel. True this will kill some, but I think it would be a bit of a temporary flash in a pan. On the other hand, North Korea could cause massive damage to Seoul within moments just from conventional artillery and, though we won't be sure until it happened, nuke Tokyo. I don't trivialise Israel, but if Tel Aviv was trashed it would have nothing like the consequences of losing Seoul and Tokyo. All this hot air about Syria when the far greater danger laughs at us. Who should USA be waging war on, North Korea or Syria, if of course it should be waging war against anybody that has not actually attacked it. And that makes him untouchable unless he is about to use them. Kind of puts Iran's situation into a clearer perspective for those who are awake and not besotted on the left's kool aid. Why won't the people of the country rise to put this man behind bars where he belongs? They look at him like a god. Really that is no exaggeration. From what I had watched in a documentary inside North Korea this thought doesn't even cross their minds they are so brainwashed.
Frank Merton Posted September 6, 2013 #24 Share Posted September 6, 2013 I rather imagine large number of North Koreans say things like that but don't think it. He seems a combination of Nero and Henry VIII.

Don't count yourself out. My guess is that she probably didn't have much choice in whatever relations they had. I bet that's his thing. Use them and kill them and make sure his entire country tunes in. He's the psychopathic son of a psychopath. He probably doesn't even touch them. He probably gets off on the fear and playing god. It's medieval. Reminds me of King Joffrey. Loves to terrorize, torture and murder.
