Just seen this on RT...about 2 missiles being launched from the Med and heading east

Nothing clear about what's happened at the moment...apparently no reports of a strike in Syria...(?)

Pentagon and NATO are said to be investigating ..?

Don't know what's going on yet.....

They are now saying that the missiles could have gone into the sea....

And it isn't known if they were armed or not

edit to add...... http://news.sky.com/story/1136479/russia-two-missiles-fired-in-Mediterranean

Russian radar has detected two ballistic "objects" fired towards the eastern Mediterranean from the central part of the sea, the country's defence ministry has reportedly said.

Interfax news agency quoted a ministry spokesman as saying the launch was detected at 10.16 am Moscow time (7.16am UK time) by an early warning radar station at Armavir, near the Black Sea, which is designed to detect missiles from Europe and Iran.

The Russian Embassy in Syria said there were no signs of a missile attack or explosions in the capital, Damascus.

Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu had informed President Vladimir Putin of the launch, according to Interfax.

"The trajectory of these objects goes from the central part of the Mediterranean Sea toward the eastern part of the Mediterranean coast," Interfax quoted the spokesman as saying.

A few more details on the Israeli/US missile test, via Reuters.

Israel said it carried out a test of a missile, used as a target in a US funded anti-missile system, in the Mediterranean on Tuesday.

The Israeli Defence Ministry said the test was conducted at 9:15 a.m. (0615 GMT), about the same time that Russia's state-run RIA news agency reported that Russian radar had detected the launch of two ballistic "objects" in the Mediterranean.

Early Reuters tweeted that the test involved the "anchor" anti-missile system.

....If we hit Syria without securing those chemical weapons first, and Israel is attacked with poison gas, my guess is Tehran and Damascus won't be habitable until the Second Coming.

The number two makes a lot of sense.

Where is your prince of protection, I said?

Even the birds of the air have fled.

They will be your only warning,

in the hour of your morning.

Reduced to ashes, reduce her to blight

That created terrible, terrible sight

So much destruction, so much pain

Seething riches, forgotten gained

Magnitude of might, magnitude of many

Destroyed completely, those two cities

Never rebuilt, never redone

Forgotten places, under the sun

I was posting it, but I see that you already opened a thread.

Here it looks like the Israeli wanted to shoot Syria, but have been neutralized by US Navy

And things become even more complicated

This EU times appears to be similar to RT or the Debka File for accuracy.

Israel has targeted sites in Syria, not with ships but with aircraft and only attack if Israel feels threatened

Are the reports true that Russia as sent another four naval ships to Syria and more alarming China sent three naval ships? apparently this news is four days old. (if true) i cant keep up, seen a report on Russia today (news channel) stating Iran will attack Israel if Syria is attacked. Israel as called up reservists and deployed its Iron dome missile defence system.

Yesterday - the EU Political and Security Committee: members for Europe, Black Sea, Mediterranean and Indian Ocean sectors issued a joint communique to ALL merchant shipping in the Eastern Mediterranean . Due to the increase in military activity in the shipping lanes between the east coast of Cyprus and the Syrian Coastline it is recommended that merchant vessels heading for Turkish ports from the Suez Canal should steer a course 315º from Port Said, passing to the west of Cyprus before changing course for the destination port. Vessels “awaiting orders” are advised not to lay-by in this area but move to anchorages in Akrotiri or Episkopi Bays . The Ammochostos (Famagusta) to Mersin freight ferry has been advised to stay within Cypriot territorial waters from N35º40’02 41”, E034º35’33 05” to and from the port of Ammochostos. The Taşucu to Ammochostos ferry is to operate to Girne Feribotu rather than Ammochostos. The Greek registered ocean-going tug Christos XXIII is on station 21nm north-west of Haifa ready to render any assistance deemed necessary.

i get the feeling this crisis as started to slide sidewards.
