Four years ago, scientists thought they had found the perfect place to settle the Noah flood debate: A farmer's house on a bluff overlooking the Black Sea built about 7,500 years ago — just before tidal waves inundated the homestead, submerged miles of coastline and turned the freshwater lake into a salty sea.

I thought they found noah's ark on top of mount arat in turkey??????????

Even if they really did the monks wouldn't let anyone do anything to it..... experts say that it's a rock formation but the sat pics do look interesting.... and there's a story somewhere of a gentleman that had gone up into the mountain with the monks and actually saw a ship nestled between two rocks with the bow sticking out (that's what the sat pics show apparently)........ and the fact that there are giant fossilized scallops high up in the Andes kinda leaves the possibilty that there may have been a worldwide flood..... or extremely large Tsunami....

Hmm, that may or may not be it. I'd be going more with Turkey, it was a global flood caused not just by rain but by several global meteorite hits into the ocean causing several tsunami's THEN, the global rain came, and during that time, and after it there was global climatic changes which resulted in an Ice Age 'the water turned to ice'.

Sadly we may never trully uncover the truth behind the ark no matter how hard we try!

Almost certainly the ice age and the subsequent great flood mentioned in Genesis was as a result of astral mechanics and things we havnt seen yet. The truth about Noahs ark could fill a book - and of course there are many such books. A good example is the bible. But we must not take whats written in the Bible at face value. The bible is a kind of code book and has to be decoded.

There are different sorts of ark (or arcs) There are also several different Noah/flood stories too including two Greek ones, Deukalion and.... Jason and the Argonauts. Turns out that Argo is another ark or arc as is the word arq. in the story of Jason and his Argonauts he and the argo/ark got to Colchis in search of the golden fleece (more astrological symbology!) Turns out that Colchis isn't very far from Mt Ararat!! - and whats more there was an Egyptian oracle center there too!! The Egyptians used ark-boat symbolism to indicate an astronomical circles (The Earth bound circle of course was Horus the hawk, because hawks circle, and from which comes, Horology, Horizon and Horoscope....) ... so, what if we are in fact dealing with the ark/arc of a circle??? A good example of this could be zodiacal circle, do not the animals/creatures go into the zodiac 2 by 2? The sun appears to move though the star signs at regular intervals of about 2,268 years. why does it do this? because of the procession of the equinoxes. Not only does the Earth spin on its axis in 24 hrs and circle the sun in 365 days it does something else as well. The earths axis is not at right angles to the plain of the ecliptic - our axis is a bout 23 and half degrees off which is why we have summer and winter in northern hemisphere, for us the Earth is tilted in towards the sun in summer and away in the winter, just a matter of a few degrees...However, the top section of the pole, the north pole, also rotates,it describes a massive circle.. and it takes nearly 30,000 years to complete one revolution it - THIS is what causes the sun to move though the zodiacal signs. A lot of the biblical mysteries are zodiacal in nature. How many of you know that there were 12 disciples because of the 12 zodiac signs?

The disciples where shepherds of men when the sun was in Aries and became fishermen when the sun moved into Pisces. I think the end of the last ice age was a major global disaster and not just because the sea level rose 300 plus feet. I also think they have left us a warning......to be on the look out for it may happen again one day even if its in the far off future. This is one reason why the ancient super civilizations, Babylonians, Egyptians, became obsessed with astronomy - navigation being another.

Mankind has not been here very long, we can only count our recoded history back a mere 10,000 years. It may well be that our dear old planet Earth has some unpleasant things it hasn't shown us yet. The destiny of all life on this planet is written in the stars.. P Edwards.

The article has nothing to do with any search for the ark. It relates to the flooding event that turned the Black Sea from a freshwater lake to a salty sea connected to the Mediterranean. Some believe this event was the inspiration for numerous flood myths of which the Biblical account is only one. One of the clinchers for this theory would be the rate at which the flooding occured. Slow, over a long time period would be evidence against this. It seems this is the type of evidence they're looking for.

Again, nothing to do with the ark, Mt Ararat or Zodiacal precession. It's much more interesting than that!

Edit: for not reading the date on the original post and falling for the old "new member makes a completely incongruous post" trick. Now feeling suitably ashamed
