DKO Posted September 5, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2013 (edited) What's everyone thinking about this election? It has been a bit of a messy lead in. Clive Palmer has been impressing me the last few months. I just don't trust Labor or The Liberals. As soon as the election comes close they spew out their 'promises' and turn into robots. Palmer is the only candidate I feel that tells it as it is. He may be a bit eccentric sometimes though haha. Especially here: By the way for people that may not know, Clive Palmer is the multi-millionaire that is building the Titanic II and building an animatronic dinosaur park. Timothy Posted September 5, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 5, 2013 I'll be voting Labor because I cannot trust Tony Abbott - and I would not want him being the face of Australia. I do love dinosaurs, but Clive Palmer is a businessman and I feel like it's just a passing interest for him because he can. If he's still in the run next time then I might give him some more time.

Black Red Devil Posted September 7, 2013 #6 Share Posted September 7, 2013 There might a a great selection but it's a poor selection as far as quality goes, especially including the major parties. I feel it's going to be a case of eenie meenie miney mo all the way to the booth.

I agree on Tony Abbott but the instability of Labour is a worry too. Abbott's done a lot of debunking Labour policies up to now but hasn't really convinced me how Australians (all Australians) are going to benefit if we vote for him. I rather the devil you know.. Millionaire running Parliament? Hmmmm

Sir Wearer of Hats Posted September 7, 2013 #13 Share Posted September 7, 2013 Wonder how this government will go? Doubt much will change. Based on the waffle from the campaign - tonnes is going to change. My personal bugbears being 1/4 of schools being turned independent (ie abandoned to the wolves), 7% of the nation's teachers sacked because they're "not performing" and his comments about that silly fad of "marriage equality". My personal bugbears being 1/4 of schools being turned independent (ie abandoned to the wolves), 7% of the nation's teachers sacked because they're "not performing" and his comments about that silly fad of "marriage equality". I worded my sentence wrong. I meant to say they'll do their usual 'promise all, give few' approach. As they always do. Unfortunately the bad points brought up about a party usually come true, where as their good points are rarely spoken of again.

Well, it is said that, when he was starting in politics as a youngster, one of his role models was Benito Mussolini. So, to answer your question I would say YES.
