You haven't given us any information, are these your pictures and why have you posted them? Well it's a personally found lipstick, so yeah. Yes, my pictures. No, you can't have it. It's a question of people's personal opinions on how old they believe it to be, no need for your interrogation. Thank you. CatFromHell Posted October 6, 2013 #7 Share Posted October 6, 2013 (edited) I don't know how old it is. It could date back to Roman Times. Edited October 6, 2013 by SheWomanCatTypeThing

It's a question of people's personal opinions on how old they believe it to be, no need for your interrogation. Thank you. I'm trying to determine if you've posted this in the right forum. If not I can move it. You still haven't given me anything to go on. Just starting a topic to ask members how old something is without providing any info isn't very helpful. Why is this posted in Sightings, Reports & Experiences? You haven't given us any information.
Ealdwita Posted October 6, 2013 #9 Share Posted October 6, 2013 (edited) Looking at the type of tube, I would guess that it dates from somewhere between 1915 and 1923/4. The colour suggests that it dates from the earlier period. 1920's lipsticks tended to be much darker. Edited October 6, 2013 by ealdwita

TheVeryFirstDinosaur Posted October 7, 2013 Author #11 Share Posted October 7, 2013 No need to cop an attitude...Moved thread to correct foum Hm, yes, definitely belongs more in the general section. Since that hardship is finished, back to original reason of thread. Can anyone take a guess at how old this thing is? I wouldn't know.
Timothy Posted October 7, 2013 #12 Share Posted October 7, 2013 Where did you find it? Might help to know What's the pat.application#? (Patent application#?) Can you write accurately here what all of the print on it says?

Blue Star Posted October 11, 2013 #15 Share Posted October 11, 2013 When was the shower house built? Where was it found in the shower house? Answering these questions may help. As it would bring the time frame right down. The tube has an Art Deco/ 1920's look to it but i think it's later than that…As the typography of the lettering would say 1940's or later, I think. It's aged, sure, by being left in the cold and damp of the shower house but i don't think that would alter the shade of the lip colour as such, just the tube. The tone of the lip colour is very 1960's but as you probably are aware, all fashions go in loops and harks back to bygone time and colours. The mechanism of the tube its self seems to me, no earlier than 1930's….As I am not familiar with that type of mechanism, it can not be any later than the early 60's. So, from the limited information i'd go with either…… The 1940's to early 60's. I don't think it is any later than this….But as i said, If we knew when the shower house was built and where in the shower house the lipstick was retrieved. This would probably give us a much clearer time frame. Sorry, i can't pin it down any more than that, without more details.

I'm trying to find a construction date for this park where the shower house is located. It's dates before 1956, I know that much. But, it was shut down in the 80's. Blue Star Posted October 14, 2013 #17 Share Posted October 14, 2013 No probs, I recon if we could date the typeface or the patent number….We'd be laughing'. i suppose at a stretch, it could be an 80's retro thing….but it's just that typeface and the mechanism look earlier to me. Hey, ho… If you do find out ….My brain would love to know
