Bob Beckel - "White House Bludgeoned Me"

CyberKen

Recommended Posts

Democrat Bob Beckel said that ObamaCare should get drop kicked for 1 Year.

The White House called him and bludgeoned him over making that suggestion.

I think by Monday morning the democrats in the U.S. Senate will follow Bob Beckels advice and support

Senator Marco Rubio's Bill to drop kick ObamaCare 1 year into the future.

It is not fair to penalize / tax Americans for not signing up on a DEAD website.

Call the fancy ObamaCare phone number and they will send you back to the dead website!

Yeah, let's scuttle the Affordable Care Act, use the savings to invade another country that was no military threat to us, kill off over 5,000 American and "coalition" troops, maiming more thousands and scarring the minds of countless others, develop a comprehensive surveillance system invading the privacy of most Americans in the name of 'homeland security,' cut taxes for the rich, do less for the poor, and pretend the Republican Party is the champion of "the people."

I like the 1st part: "scuttle the ACA".

Use the savings to reduce the size of the U.S. Federal Budget Deficit. :tu:

It's going down right now thanks to the Sequester - Law of the Land ! Go check it out at US Debt Clock.org!

Instead of scrapping the whole plan because of some technical woes on the website, wouldn't it be simpler to just not levy the fines until a later date?

Technical Woes = 5 Million Lines of Code Need To Be Rewritten

Scrap the whole plan and switch to the Canadian Public Option. It's really simple!!!

Wait. Is there a down side to that ???

But, it is the law, and it's constitutional. If and when the powers that be decide to legally change it that will be a different story, I'm thinking it's here.

Just averting the fines will give them plenty of time to get it up and functional.

It's the law and it's constitutional but Maria Bartiromo says it's turning America into a nation of part time workers.

Actually, the best thing to do is scrap the whole thing and start over. I think we need a *healthcare law* in place anyway, just to prevent this debacle from happening again. But Obamacare is so intertwined into so many things especially the IRS, it would just take too much to untangle the mess. We can do healthcare with a small number of smaller standalone laws. We don’t need a monstrosity of legislation. We can have functional, common sense laws where the government doesn’t have its fingerprints all over. The government should be in the position of oversight and not enforcement.

The big selling point was the pre-existing conditions.

We can solve that without ObamaCare.

Repeal ObamaCare 100% then replace it with a solution that addresses pre-existing conditions and THAT'S IT .

There is no reason tip the entire health care system on its head.

Yes, it is the law, but that doesn’t mean that you have to blindly purchase anything. The penalty tax portion is not Constitutional and Justice Roberts said as much. Because it was not in effect yet, it was outside of the scope of the judgment. The Supreme Court will have one more shot at it in the next year or so. TPTB are ultimately the people and not this current POTUS. The more Conservatives stay active attacking it in public view the more it will sway the politicians that want to stay in office long after this POTUS leaves the scene. And that will make this current POTUS squirm and squeal for his remaining lame-duck term.

I would honestly be willing to listen to a reasonable GOP plan to straighten out the mess Health Care is in.

Just as I'm willing to give Obamacare a chance. Something HAD to be done about skyrocketing health concerns. Nobody should have to worry about being so sick that they can't afford to live.

I don't know if Obamacare will be a disaster, or a blessing. I think it's far too early to tell. I worry about how my kids and their future kids are going to be able to afford access to helathcare, a things I've taken for granted all my life.

My Dad had great insurance from the company he worked at and it provided well for us kids. Until recently, I've had great insurance where I've worked as well. But, in the last 10-15 years , my share of the bill, with co-pays, premiums, and deductibles have gone up 10 fold. And they are going to go up another 500% by the end of my current contract. My wages have seen a meager 10% rise in that same time period. Something's gotta give.

Plans Within Plans : Rush Limbaugh just floated the idea that the New York Times, ABC News and others are revealing

that 5 million lines of code need to be rewritten in order to Flip - The - Narrative.

- Okay, ObamaCare is a mess. It really is too complicated. So lets just simplify everything and switch to the Canadian Public Option!-

That definitely explains why Jon Stewart is running a bulldozer over ObamaCare.

This was their plan all along.

I agree. No one should be denied coverage or care. We could use some kind of load-balancing between insurers so that no one company takes a hit. And then they can build their pools around the risky clients.

I like the idea of the HSA (instead of a cafeteria plan) but let the individual do more with it like conservative investment in local bonds and what not and then use this as a model for reforming SS.

I like the idea of Exchanges. But instead of 4 or 5 companies per state, open up cross state competition. Let the company decide which states they want to be involved in.

I like the idea that the insurance companies are required to use 80% of their revenues for healthcare. But my question is, what has it been in the past? Were they using only 33% or 79.99% or 92%? And still be able to cover their CEOs with Golden Parachutes? Given the nature of the business, I would be for making the books of insurance companies completely open and transparent. Put the power of the free market back into the hands of the consumer. If the consumer is unhappy with the way the company is allocating funds, then let the consumer find another company to go to. If 80% is an ideal goal, then let the market reflect that.

And I am for Tort reform.

There are probably several others but these come to mind. And none of these should take 900 pages to describe.

There is no reason tip the entire health care system on its head.

Well, getting rid of Obamacare should keep from tipping the entire healthcare system on its head.

They have had many. The original HR3200 had many Conservative ideas all throughout. But with successive rewrites, those ideas were messaged out by the Democrats. And that is where the animosity started. This is when I began developing my 29th Amendment.

Just as I'm willing to give Obamacare a chance. Something HAD to be done about skyrocketing health concerns.

I am willing to allow Obamacare a chance but then again why? The track record is clear. Why do you think that repeating the same thing will produce different results? How many big ticket government entitlement programs are making money (i.e. doesn’t need constant shoring up with tax payer’s money) and are successful? This is one of the first things that need to happen. Any program that loses money should be cut or heavily reformed except for paying down the debt and Defense. Those two should be the only mandatory spending programs.

Costs go up anyway, that’s natural. But with Obamacare will force the costs up even more. And with QE, there will come a time when only the very wealthy will be able to get healthcare.

Nobody should have to worry about being so sick that they can't afford to live.

I don’t want to sound crass but that’s life. With 7 billion people on this planet, the odds are that there will be many that die young naturally. We all can’t have a healthy mind and body. It’s all about the numbers and there’s nothing else you can do.

I don't know if Obamacare will be a disaster, or a blessing. I think it's far too early to tell. I worry about how my kids and their future kids are going to be able to afford access to helathcare, a things I've taken for granted all my life.

Granted, it is too early to make any final decisions but this is where the famous Spock/Hammer analogy is relevant. Obamacare is going to turn our healthcare to that like Canada and Europe. You’ll be waiting hours if not days to see a doctor even in the emergency room. Hopefully you don’t have internal bleeding.

Disasters are just that. Once they get going, it’s not easy to reverse course. What usually happens is that people become complacent rather than do something about it. Jefferson wrote “…and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.” I’m pretty sure that he lifted that from Hamlet “Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or to take arms against a sea of troubles, and by opposing end them?” But whichever version you understand, I have a feeling that this will become the new normal and we slide further into a condition of mediocrity.

It going up 500% is your company becoming compliant with Obamacare. My wages have seen the same meager rise. I remember when the yearly raise was between 3% and 5%, now it floats around 1%. But this is a symptom. The economy is screwed because too much Socialism has crept into the mindset of the work force. We are no longer exceptional. We are just like the rest of the world.

We could have a - Veto Proof - solution very soon. :tu:

The ObamaCare Website / Hubs are a Kludge.

We should see the "Old Bait and Switch" routine from the White House very soon.

"Okay, ObamaCare is a mess. It's very hard to understand. So, lets just ALL switch to the Canadian Public Option!"

"It's really simple and FREE !!!"

"What do ya say America? Come on....trust me! Would i lie to you ?"

"The American Public Option could be funded with a teeny weeny National Sales Tax ....AND....the 30 hour a week requirement disappears!!"

" Yes or No ?"

"BTW, everybody that says no is a racist !!!!!"

It is pretty much a disaster and everything promised has fallen through. No, you can't keep yoru plan if you like it, no it isn't cheaper in fact it is doubling the costs for most people and no it hasnt helped fix the deficit, it has increased it. There are many more of these but the worst is that this is just the first year and the fines go up annually from here on out.

But, CyKen, were it really that easy--or simple--wouldn't it have been proposed this way originally? The idea that some form of emotional blackmail is taking place, whereby the Administration (deliberately?) screwed-up the roll-out so we'll all passively agree to a form of actual national healthcare is fascinating in its own internal logic. But I can't say I see it coming. Do you have any documentation on this (opinion pieces, etc.)? If it's your own prognostication it is brilliant in its own special way.

It looks like the fines will be Drop Kicked until January 1, 2015.

Democrat Senator Joe Manchin has taken the lead on his own bill to Delay ObamaCare.

The Megyn Kelly IRS Document has Obama between a rock and a hard place.
