Church of the Dammed destroyed by arson

TOPEKA, Kansas (WIBW) -- Topeka fire officials believe massive fire that destroyed a local historical landmark to be the result of Arson. They have yet to release an official motive for the blaze.

Fire crews were working for hours on a massive fire near downtown Topeka Sunday morning.

Large clouds of smoke and flames could be seen billowing out of the church at 1600 Harrison when the Topeka Fire Department got the call around 8 a.m.

This church had a reputation as a haunted location. It was featured as the Church of the Damned on Paranormal State. Legend of the place is that one day the Devil decided to move in, and since then the place was abandoned and all sorts of fun stuff happened- screams, little ghost girls and other ghosts, demons, damned souls, dark powers that menace...

It was also decided in August of this year to slate the building for demolition.
