It's ironic if you translate the news to normal people talk it basically reports that "Some people reckon they heard a noise then started counting and the end is coming". I'd be sending me mate home in a taxi that night if that ever came up in conversation!

^I can understand why it's reported by Fox News now, it's useless and/or hearsay information! Damn tabloids.

The apocalypse DID happen!.. Everything was totally destroyed and burnt to a cinder... Then as foretold... The new worlds were created... Just like the old ones... EXACTLY like the old ones... SO we are

now living on Mark II Midgard... and all of us are exact copies of our Mark I selves...

(I just wanted to beat the conspiracy theorists to the punch  )...

Well, Slartibartfast did win an award for designing Norway, didn't he ....

maybe today the last descent(s) of norse/viking died

but in the story made this day such a big event/deal

Most of the nation of Iceland, much of Norway, Sweden and Denmark are direct descendants of the Norse. The Scots still carry much of Viking DNA, along with the Faroese and parts of Russia and the Ukraine.

We have an arena down the street here in Dallas. At 6am Saturday morning some a**hole did a sound check that woke up the whole neighborhood. Both the girlfriend and I sat straight up and yelled Ragnarok!! Frigging hilarious. Or maybe you had to be there .... :)

Grigori Rasputin

Rasputin prophesized a storm where fire would eat all life on land and Jesus Christ would come back to Earth to comfort those in distress.

EDIT: DANG!!! That was a 2013 prediction....

Fail....

Found this....

http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/List_of_predictions_of_the_end_of_the_world#21st_century

  • 2014: World War III, resurrected Nostradamus prophecy of a fire in the North for the reference of the end of the age of the fifth sun, believed to be a specific Northern region of a country, current speculation is North Korea, as relative to the resolution of a Pope prediction.
  • Unspecified time during the reign of Pope Francis, the pope succeeding Benedict XVI. Mediaeval Saint Malachy supposedly predicted Peter the Roman (Petrus Romanus) would be the last pope, Rome would be destroyed and a terrible judge would judge his people, The end.Doomsayers have already started shoehorning the new pope into the prediction.

There is this one too!

NASA Predicts Massive Solar Flares 2013 AD

Most end of the world conspiracy theories begin with some crackpot in a basement browsing old religious texts on the internet – but this one comes directly from a higher authority. NASA is predicting that in the beginning of the year 2013, the sun’s growing magnetic energy will combine with the highest levels of sunspot activity in the past 11 years, causing a barrage of solar flares that will destroy all of our computers – satellites will be the hardest hit – and disrupt the earth’s magnetic field.

Interestingly enough, this scientific forecast coincides with another prediction by author David Flynn who, in 2008, said that Isaac Newton’s doomsday calculations were slightly off, and pointed to 2013 instead of 2060 as the beginning of the Messianic era.

http://listverse.com/2012/12/21/10-doomsday-predictions-beyond-2012/

So then in 2014 we have Nostradamus, Saint Malachy, NASA, and possibly Isaac Newton making predictions of Doom! COOL!

They missed the right date because of the Gregorian calendar. The right date is march 11th,2014.Probably. Maybe.

What is the problem with the Gregorian calendar that you are claiming exists?

The whole thing fizzled. It is now March 8, 2014 .....still nothing! Just like all the other predictions these last few years.

If it was supposed to happen 100 days after the sounding of the horn what has this to do with which calendar you use? 100 days is 100 days

During the 2012 hoax people tried to make up fake reasons for the failure including leap days. These were made by people that did not realize that the Julian calendar used leap days. The Julian calendar used too many leap days.
