Morrisons supermarket has banned children under the age of 16 from buying high caffeine energy drinks.

The staff at some of the supermarket branches will challenge customers to prove their age.

Morrisons is the first major UK retailer to ban the drinks.

Good, wish all stores would. I drink a couple of energy drinks almost daily to counteract the side effects of MS/RA medication (pot), part of my "hippy speedball" as my friend dubs it. At 30something years old, having zero energy from having nocturnal seizures and weighing 155 pounds if I go too overboard with them ( or more common a combination of energy drinks and other caffeinated sources) ill become nauseated and have palpitations.

I can't imagine the havoc that would wreak upon a 12 year olds body.

The best drink is natural water(no tap).Dont go with all the isotonics crap.Climb a mountain with either and I would guarantee you,you would reach the peak quicker with just natural water.
