Family reclaims Christmas lights record

A family have broken the world record for the number of Christmas lights put up on a home - for the second time.

The Richards family, of Canberra, Australia, have installed 502,165 lights around their house and garden.

David Richards, a barrister, started work on stringing the 48km of wires around his property in early October.

Only me that thinks it looks horrible? Nice that it's a fundraiser but it's still an eyesore.

Brings to mind two things.. .First is the scene from National Lampoon's "Christmas Vacation", when they turned on their house lights - the power company had to put another nuclear reactor on line...

The second is the question "I wonder if these lights are visible from space?"...
