Irritating that in our world of communication the information given is unclear. I hope it goes in your favour and that you don't get stuck on hold for too long.

Keep going with the Nissan too. :)

Will do - nice chatting to you :)

$64 a year, I could only dream of that.

My 2.5 litre Alfa Romeo is £260 a year or about $425!!

Of course it is all in the name of the environment even though I could probably drive it another 12 years and still not produce the amount of pollution it would make to scrap it and build a new electric car.

Toyota Aygo.....£20 a year tax, £120 fully comp. £40 petrol every two weeks.......

Had a Honda Accord previously ......nice car but petrol was costing an arm & a leg (£100 a week)....getting the Toyota was the best thing I ever did & kick myself for not doing it sooner.

A Honda Accord and a Toyota Aygo - do you have no self respect :P (joke, before it's taken the wrong way)

I have reached that certain age now where I have more respect for my wallet than I do for my 'street cred.' :tu:

Well, the only good advice I can pass on is whatever age you get to, never buy a french car.

I would have agreed with that before, but I bought my wife a Citreon C4 hatchback, only 2yrs old, less then 10,000 on the clock...and it's a fantastic little car, quick, comfortable, and more gadgets then i'll ever understand.

Having said that, I haven't had to work on it yet....I might change my mind if it turns out to be impossible to work on without completely dismantling it...

Work colleague has a Megane & Daughter 'had' a Clio, both plagued by exactly the same electrical problems. After many years driving I tend to think certain nationalities should stick with what they're good at. Perhaps the french should concentrate on making excellent wine & leave the cars to the germans & japanese.

Having said that I not sure that any car these days is made solely in one country.

My wifes uncle owns a garage that maintains classic & specialist motorbikes including Harleys & he amazed me by telling me that only 35% of a Harley Davidson is manufactures in the states, but 90% of a Honda Goldwing is made in the states.

Buy British....blimey, I can't think of many i'd buy (obviously an Atom, but that's not really in the same league as normal cars)....i'm struggling to think of anything really, MG did a ZS 2.0 Turbo Diesel, you can pick those up cheap as chips these days, the engines were fantastic, and pretty much bullet proof. Other then that i'd have to go back a long way to find something I liked, or opt for a Transit or Land Rover. As for Vauxhall, didn't they make the Calibre? Enough said lol

Yes, Rover went out of business for a good reason. I know, I used to drive one.

They did the Rover 25 and 45 if memory serves me right....awful cars...they just seem to run out of ideas when making those.

Yep and they tried using the same gasket on the MG range....they kept going too...they changed in 04' I think, used a thicker gasket and solved the problem.

I've owned a vauxhall astra, a vauxhall cavelier SRI, a rover, a honda accord & now the Aygo, & without doubt the aygo is by far the best. So much so that i'll be getting another next time.

Some people get a warm glow inside when they overtake somebody else on a duel carriageway, I get a warm glow inside when I see the poor sap in front of me put £60 of £70 of petrol in his car & i put 20 in mine & know I wont be back for a week or so. It's probably an age thing.

Yes, very true, everybody has a different take on it.

p.s. the Vauxhall Cavalier SRI was a nice car, only trouble was, it kept getting stolen.

I've never driven one...the Mk11 was a nice looking car though imo.....which reminds me, I stand corrected, Vauxhall made the Opel Manta, which had the distinctive drop-looking front end.....that was a lovely looking car. A real classic design imo.

I had the mk3. & yes, the Manta was nice.

I wish my brother had kept his first car, now that would be a modern classic:-

That is a lovely looking car :tu:....I bet he could kick himself, that would be worth a small fortune now. That's what I don't like about modern cars, no one takes the time to design them as eye pleasing as your brothers first car....they all pretty much follow the same shapes now. I see the new peugeot the other day, it looked like it had nicked the clothes off an Audi TT, absolutely no effort made to to design it at all.
