Still Waters Posted December 10, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 10, 2013 An extra tough species of cockroach has been identified in Manhattan - the first time it has been found in the United States. Typically New York's cockroaches can only survive in warm conditions but the new Asian species can survive outside in freezing conditions. http://www.telegraph...-in-the-US.html

freetoroam Posted December 11, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 11, 2013 Imported in soil. This is the one they did find. Serves them right for importing plants which are not native. If they want to research, go to the original country to do it, people are already put at risk because of imported, untested, unchecked products from other countries.....and it always seems to be the "experts" or those who have been given permission, who bring them in, in this case it seems to be the nurseries. Still too early to see what will happen, but my point is...with all the "safety" rules and laws in place, how can it still happen? One error is all it takes.
