seeder Posted December 20, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 20, 2013 (edited) Is this the lost tomb of the last Incan emperor? Amazon ruins could solve one of the greatest mysteries of the ancient world * Newly-discovered site in Ecuador could be resting place of Atahualpa * Legend says he left a room filled with gold and silver to appease Spaniards * It could be one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of all time A mystery that has intrigued archaeologists and historians for centuries may be on the cusp of being solved thanks to the discovery of a ruin deep in the Amazonian jungle. The site, discovered by a multinational team of explorers, could be the tomb of Atahualpa, the last emperor of the Incas, who was executed by the Spanish after their conquest of South America. If they are right it could join the ranks of the great archaelogical discoveries, such as the tomb of Tutankhamun in Egypt, the Terracotta Army in China and the Rosetta Stone. http://www.dailymail...l#ixzz2nzYjNN5q Edited December 20, 2013 by seeder

Gingitsune Posted December 20, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 20, 2013 Interesting, but it's a bit too early to get anything from it. I hope we'll get news in a few years.
