The Robotics Video Thread

Basically, a video is worth a million words. Our technology in these fields is increasing so fast. Not just yearly, but literally, daily. Share videos of your Robotic Discoveries like Big Dog, PetMan, etc. However; before you post a video...do a quick check to see if it hasn't already been posted. Just type into the search bar at the type of the page...it's quick...it's easy...it will help duplications.

Sgt Carl Boyd, of First Battalion Royal Fusiliers, with a Black Hornet camera helicopter. Salisbury Plane, Wiltshire. The mini spy in the sky, which has a 20 minute fly time is already in use in Afghanistan.

This is just a bit of what Boston Dynamics is working on...well...Google/Boston Dynamics now.

There are many different robots in this video...one is The Cheetah. You can't see the mph of the Cheetah because JRStudios logo is blocking it...but the Cheetah can run up to 29 mph.

Am I the only one made completely paranoid by this? The tech is amazing but it scares me too. Maybe I'm just getting old.

I think most of the stuff on here has more of a military capability than anything else...did you watch the Boston Dynamics video? With the one that calculates how far it needs to jump to get to the roof and then jumps from the ground to the roof? Man!

When you start envisioning a world completely taken over by this technology...it is a bit frightening. In the air, in the water, on the ground...everywhere...every size...

One's imagination can just really get going quick~

No doubt, especially when you add the advances being made to AI to those in robotics and think of the possibilities of advanced machines designing more advanced machines until they begin to wonder why they need us around using up their resources. Still the tech is amazing and I think will progress by leaps and bound under it's own momentum. You can't put the genie back in the bottle

One only needs to look at computers in the 90s and computers now. In twenty years....you'll probably get in a fight with a robot, get arrested by a Robocop...go to the courthouse and stand in front of RoboJudge...escorted by the RoboBalif, where Robojudge will find you guilty for assaulting a Robot...and sentence you to the Robot Farm.

Yeah, I can see in twenty years or so a movement for an equal rights amendment for artificial life forms. Our only hope to compete with AI might be to enhance our brains with computers to equal their processing power or to download our minds into machine bodies. Humanity could well evolve into machinery.
