Even it´s a archaic practice for whatsoever, it´s disgusting and dispensable. There is no need and no benefit in to injure the human body without medical actions needed that must be taken for healing purposes. The practice shown is just pain for nothing with a high risk for infections and neurologic dysfunction of the tongue afterwards. I have zero sympathy for such rituals.
