Blue lava pours from Indonesian volcano

Still Waters

There are plenty of natural treasures hidden away in the most unsuspecting places on Earth. One of them is an Indonesian sulfur mine, Kawah Ijen, that produces stunning, spectral blue lava. The images of this mine are so breathtaking, I could just stare at them for hours.

Burning sulfur produces a blue flame. Very beautiful, but look up the sulfur miners of java. Worst job in the world.

Are those flames coming off the lava, or is the lava actually moving that fast?

That footage is at night and the blue is flickering flames, the lava is not moving that fast.
