There are reality shows—“Ghost Hunters,” “Ghost Travelers,” “Celebrity Ghost Stories,” “Ghost Hunters Academy” and even dramas based on the subject, such as “Ghost Whisperer” and “Being Human,” among others. In these shows, you have the typical paranormal phenomena being showcased, like full body apparitions, orbs, shadow people, EVPs, phantoms, poltergeists—in other words, all the usual suspects.

There are so many different types of unknown phenomena. Calling everything we can't explain as "ghosts" makes people easily assume its something that's died and passed over. There's many different possibilities what it could be. There are reports of seeing phantoms of living people. Interesting read though.

There is no such thing. There are a few types of hauntings, and that's it.

Residual, active, poltergeist.

Then there's demonic activity which isn't ghost activity at all.
