buckskin scout Posted February 21, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2014 (edited) This article shares my eschatological views: Have The Promises To Abraham Been Fulfilled? The New Testament presents the promises to Abraham as being the Old Testament version of the Gospel (Gal. 3:8). The New Testament begins with the statement that the Lord Jesus is the seed of Abraham (Mt. 1:1). Preterism and various denominations hold that the promises to Abraham were fulfilled in his lifetime and in the subsequent blessing of Israel his seed. This is indeed the case- but there are significant reasons to believe that these fulfilments were only partial fulfilments and not the only fulfillment. http://www.aletheiac...t/dbb/14-12.htm Edited February 21, 2014 by Still Waters Reduced amount of copied text. - please avoid copy and pasting entire web pages or atricles. Sundew Posted February 21, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2014 I believe that some of the Abrahamic promises are yet future, for instance Israel has never possessed the full extent of the land promised to them. They came close to it under the reign of King Solomon, but it is yet to be fully fulfilled.
buckskin scout Posted February 22, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted February 22, 2014 I believe that some of the Abrahamic promises are yet future, for instance Israel has never possessed the full extent of the land promised to them. They came close to it under the reign of King Solomon, but it is yet to be fully fulfilled. The promised land is a type of the kingdom of God. Is Abraham with us today? Another, look at a map of Palestine the Euphrates runs northeast of present day Israel in if I am not mistaken in Syria. But the the fact remains, even if God did not fulfill the Abrhamic Land Promise, what makes you think God ever will, because Palestine is but a mere shadow for the glorious kingdom of God. And do you disagree?
