JGirl Posted February 28, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 28, 2014 i'm tired of people talking about them but i've not had an experience with an actual bigfoot to tell you whether or not i tire of them easily. i just don't get the obsession/fascination with cryptids at all. it's all a bunch of campfire stories to me
J. K. Posted February 28, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 28, 2014 Just like any other hobby, it's a topic that some people are interested in. I don't see the attraction to stamp collecting, but I don't disdain the industry built around it.

I don't see the attraction to stamp collecting, but I don't disdain the industry built around it. well that's because we can all see stamps and know they exist. they are also widely traded and have a monetary value as well as serving as a subjectively interesting hobby.in other words there is something to talk about with regard to stamp collecting even if one does not collect them with stories of cryptids we have dubious witness accountings blurry photographs and a lot of gullible people.
keninsc Posted February 28, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 28, 2014 I really don't have any interest in any other cryptid. However, there are websites devoted to a number of other cryptid, maybe you'd like to give them a try?

DecoNoir Posted February 28, 2014 #9 Share Posted February 28, 2014 For every one Bigfoot thread, there are ten Political and/or Conspiracy threads on a sight called "Unexplained Mysteries". In my opinion, we could use a little more of the hairy guy. Or at least a shaking cell phone video with a guy in a ghillie suit.
coldethyl Posted February 28, 2014 #10 Share Posted February 28, 2014 I get tired of that Bigfoot hunting show on tv. There's never any Bigfoots on there. Bleh.
Q-C Posted February 28, 2014 #11 Share Posted February 28, 2014 (edited) well that's because we can all see stamps and know they exist. they are also widely traded and have a monetary value as well as serving as a subjectively interesting hobby. in other words there is something to talk about with regard to stamp collecting even if one does not collect them with stories of cryptids we have dubious witness accountings blurry photographs and a lot of gullible people. Oh, there's plenty to talk about when it comes to bigfoot, for those who are interested, that is. For some of us our interest does wax and wane over time. Newbies come along all the time with a zeal for the subject. I happen to find some other topics (under the paranormal umbrella or cryptids) uninteresting, but it is obvious others do not. Different strokes for different folks. Besides, even if the creature is mythological the people involved and their shenanigans are not. And they are fine fodder for discussion. the subject of Bigfoot is not limited to only some blurry photos. I don't believe bigfoot is out there anywhere and I still find things I like to discuss and read and analyze and watch and debate and argue about. But if you don't get it you won't get it. And there's nothing wrong with that Edited February 28, 2014 by QuiteContrary
Awake2Chaos Posted February 28, 2014 #12 Share Posted February 28, 2014 Personally I'd rather talk about Mothmen, I find them much more interesting, but what every floats our collective boats! I don't see any harm in Bigfoot threads at all.
coldethyl Posted February 28, 2014 #13 Share Posted February 28, 2014 I can see why you posted this though. The whole front page of this forum is mainly about Bigfoot. If you're a cryptid lover you want to discuss all kinds.
Awake2Chaos Posted February 28, 2014 #14 Share Posted February 28, 2014 I always think of Chewbaca when I think of bigfoot, so it's just hard for me to take it seriously.... Am I the only one?

Dougward5 Posted March 1, 2014 #16 Share Posted March 1, 2014 Bigfoot is Americas favorite hairy hide and seek monster...but is not the only thing said to be hiding in the woods...he just has a better press agent... anything hairy. .and unexplained on the woods gets called ' Bigfoot " ....I mean if a bunch of city folks who had been watching a lot of reality T.V. ran across the Faunsdale bike ralley..they would swear it is a bigfoot convention. But I am not one to judge....lmao

DecoNoir Posted March 1, 2014 #21 Share Posted March 1, 2014 I'm tired of seeing those Viagra commercials. It'd help if they were entertaining. Dumpnuts Posted March 1, 2014 #22 Share Posted March 1, 2014 (edited) I'm pretty ticked off with Bigfoot myself. He led a groupof adolescent cryptids ( Nessie, Thunderbird, Mothman & Jersey Devil ) over to my house last week & terrorized my family throughout the night. First they caught me with the ol' flaming bag of poo trick. Then followed it up TPing & Egging my home. To top it off, last night... they killed my daughter. I've about had it up to here with that Bigfoot. I'm about ready to have Sakari shoot it for me & take it on tour. keninsc Posted March 1, 2014 #23 Share Posted March 1, 2014 Hell, I'd have shot him for you, but you gotta call me. I sense disturbances in the Force like I use to you know. The veil of the Dark side and all that you know.
msmike1 Posted March 1, 2014 #24 Share Posted March 1, 2014 Bigfoot is the popular kid on the block right now. Finding Bigfoot, 10 million dollar bigfoot bounty, etc... It will phase out and another will take its place for awhile. I say we just make up a new cryptid, somebody on here take a blurry ass photo of it, we can post it all over, and then sit back while it's talked about as a real creature and laugh. We just need a really cool name. Mike
keninsc Posted March 1, 2014 #25 Share Posted March 1, 2014 Personally, Bigfoot is really the only Cryptid I have any real interest in, just don't care about anything else. That's not to say I'm a believer in Bigfoot, but I have my own reasons for being interested in this particular anomoly.
