I found a pentagram

Hi Everyone,

I know its been awhile since I logged in. For that I appologise. I have had an intersting occurence in the last 48 hours I was hoping you could help me with. Im not sure I'm even posting under the correct format, however glancing at the religious section it didnt seem propper there either.

I have practiced witch craft for jearly 20 years and have amassed quite the collection of books, both on the wiccan arts and darker arts. As I have resently moved , also resently unpacked my books and while thumbing through one I had rarely used or read, I found some thing rather disturbing.

Tucked in a book I rarely read or touch I found a pentagram, inscribed with runes, and written all over it were some inappropriate ramblings.

I recognised the hand writing as my ex's, as the nonsensical style of it, and snapped a pic that I promptly sent to him. He admitted responsibility and said he'd done it quite a long time ago.

I would like to add, to my knowledge, he has never "dabbled" and may not have intentionally ment any real harm. I do believe however that what he did may have inadvertently put a damper on some relationships I have had since. My question is, now that I have found it, what do I do with the thing? Should I burn it? Is thrpwing it away appropriate? I feel if it lingers any longer it may cause further damage. I some of you will tell me im ctazy, but I would like some thoughts.

Burn it if you like or simply toss it away, it's like finding an old postcard from the past and it only carries weight if you believe it does. As far as his "dabbling" many people do and have but it's just some silliness really. Pentagrams aren't evil, in fact, they were often used as positive symbols by everyone from the Wiccans to the Celts and even the Free Masons.

Here's another tid-bit for you. The Swastika used by Nazi Germany was for centuries before used as a symbol for good luck and prosperity. Hitler took it and turned it 45° and made it into the symbol for the National Socialist Party or the Nazis as we usually call them. Symbols are representations of things, be they religious, political or patriotic. So, if it means nothing to you, and it really shouldn't be problem for you, then simply toss it away or burn it. I would recommend you destroy it simply so no one else might find it by accident and think it's something that it isn't.

I literally wouldn't give much if any thought to it. Burn or otherwise remove the thing from your presence. The thing with stuff like this is that if you entertain the thought enough it will royally screw you up.

If you are feeling superstitious about it - drown it in salt water to cleanse it of bad vibes or burn it with a little ceremony for effect. Basically, it only has as much power as you are willing to cede to it. If you are bothered, you haved ceded something already, so an act of cleansing will make you feel you dealt with it appropriately.

People will generally only give you advice from what they would do, not how they think you should handle it in your best and highest interest.... So in a case like this where it really matters, because of your core beliefs and faith as a witch, and because someone close to you attempted to do something -using your faith- to intentionally affect you, then the best way to handle this is to clear, void and revoke whatever was done through ritual or a little ceremony. It would probably be a good idea to remove all cordings, attachments, links to this person as well, which you can do another ritual for. Then call forward all agreements and contracts between you and this person and have them voided and revoked.

Once you are done with these rituals, i would take a pen and write revoked, voided, cancelled 4 times over the paper then tear it in half and burn it as a way to cleanse it physically.

My ex has a very serious drug problem, and his intentions im sure were simply to just make me think or hurt my feelings. While under the influence he's extremely irrational. When I asked about it he didnt want to talk, and the inscription is clear ... he was afraid I was having a relationship with some one else and his intention was that it wouldnt work out.

What has happened between you and your ex is all in the past, it's over and done with. I wouldn't give him the "power" to drive you into thinking he is out to get you or trying to destroy your chances of finding someone else. I don't think he was trying to make fun of what you (and many) believe in if he was truly under the influence. If he has hurt you emotionally, of course you'll be jumping to these types of conclusions. My best advice is to get rid of it by any means, cleanse your thoughts and space around you and if you feel it necessary do a protection spell of sorts!

True enough. I did, however, find the 'thing' after and intense bout of terrible happenstance. To read the inscrpition made perfect sence. After the fact. I dont know. It doesnt matter anymore. I revoked and burned it. Whats done is done.

I found a pentagram, and it is my grandmother's last name!

I knew my father's family was from Sicily, Italy.

My mother was adopted at birth, but we know her family lived on a reservation in South Dakota, so we assumed her line was Native American.

The results came in a couple months ago, and it turns out my mother's line is from northern Italy - no Native American blood at all!

I allowed my results to be matched with others to see if I had any relatives in their database and 2 people showed up. One was a cousin who I talk to maybe once every 5 years. I didn't know he had taken the DNA test, and it made me believe the tests are accurate.

The other match was a guy I didn't know, but he shared his family tree and my roots were there.

Translating the Italian surnames on my part of the tree gave me a kind of 'confirmation'. Here are some of the names, translated to English:

-Mark or sign of the pentagram

-Those who were transformed

-(A profession which was known for magical skills)
