EllJay Posted March 25, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 25, 2014 Stepping over a rope; not a big deal you say? Well, if you are a penguin it might as well be rocket science. After the first one goes, and fall, they seem to have a dialogue amongst each other on how to proceed - with lots of chatter, nodding heads and careful inspection of the rope. Then the next one boldly goes - and fall....and a third, and a fourth, the fifth one bounces back. But then the sixth one leap ahead and crosses without falling, and look back in surprise, thinking; "How the fck did I mange that?" Lilly Posted March 26, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 26, 2014 No wonder the term "bird brains" isn't very flattering.
Wickian Posted March 26, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 26, 2014 Penguins are what I like to think of as evolutionary lemons. Sure their design will get the job done, but what on earth where they thinking? Giving up the ability to fly to any habitat you can survive at in exchange for living in the Antarctic as warm blooded mammals... Don't they spend something like 3-4 months starving and huddling together for warmth.

Very graceful in the water though...
