Of course, the Journalists, in their eagerness to stoke up fear of the Red Menace, may have forgotten the concept that one might be tongue in cheek, of course. Many of them, as I said, are great pieces of art in a kitsch kind of way. I dont know if the couple are Russian sympathisers but its interesting to note that Jay got his B.A. cum laude in Russian and eastern european studies from Yale when he was just 21 and Claire was formerly married to a CNN Moscow correspondent. Something else interested me as well...... she's 3 yrs older then him. Probably his first girlfriend. Looks and acts like the type who was a mamas boy who needs a mother like spouse. I know I'm judging him but it's what I perceive in watching him over the yrs.

What are you going on about? I started off by saying "I dont know if they're sympathisers" in reference to your post above mine.

They do have interests in Russia and eastern europe so the posters aren't a surprise. Besides for the magazine to include them in the photo it was meant to be seen.

I think it's the passage of time and the view of a youth culture that never really saw the evils done in the name of Communism. They seem to either think the reports are a lie or are exaggerated. Ask the East European countries who "prospered" under this loving system for decades. Maybe the ubiquitous queues for things as simple as bread and toilet paper were just propaganda? Yes, I'm sure that must be the case. If there is any justice, those who idealize the system that caused so much pain in the world will someday feel that boot on their own neck. But hey! At least it won't be an American boot!

Yeah the first minute in the last video hit the nail right on the head, race, class, gender, all that.

But in general, here's what it really boils down to and the underlining message I got from them or the main driving subject they are trying to push into every students brain, "Equality".

Now I caught on to this real quick, not because of my personal feelings on it, but simply because I knew if did anything or said anything good in their eyes about 'Equality' that would get me a better grade in my Sociology class or any other class. I'd would have an easier time passing the class. Of course that was what they were hoping, that I seemed to be all about 'Equality'. As matter of fact, the Sociology Professor wanted us to do a semester term paper on anything to do with Sociology in general, yet he ever so slightly hinted around about 'Inequality' specifically. No problem for me, I knew exactly what they wanted and what to do and this paper would count for the better part of my grade in that class. Lol, I was struggling with trying to pass his Sociology tests, kept failing them. So anyway, I did a term paper on "The Inequalities of Women in India". I knew that was gonna be a highly accepted term paper from his perspective. And it was, except for one thing - I didn't mention anything about or left out the inequalities of Muslim women specifically. My term paper just concentrated on the Inequalities of India's female gender in general. So I didn't get that A- or A+ like I wanted and thought I was going to get, so instead he gave me a B+ because of that. Bummer!

But it did help me pass the class though. Damn Sociology tests were killing me, man!

A quick perusal of cases shows an overwhelming majority of free speech infringements have been targeted at conservative students.
