Still Waters Posted May 15, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 15, 2014 An entire family have survived being struck by lightning following a storm in the German city of Chemnitz. One woman, Ricarda, told the Bild newspaper she was chopping wood in the garden while her children were playing when it started raining. http://www.independe...ng-9377768.html
paperdyer Posted May 16, 2014 #2 Share Posted May 16, 2014 Sounds like the 9 year old took the brunt of the bolt. I hope he's OK. I have a friend that got hit by lightning. He was out of work for over a years and never was the same after that. His body got so messed up he had to wear a 4 - 5 inch shoe extention on one foot just to walk. His face was a little contorted as well. I haven't heard anything about him since he retired.

Sundew Posted May 16, 2014 #6 Share Posted May 16, 2014 Ouch!!! I cant even imagine how that would feel. I can tell you, I took an indirect hit while having my hand on a radial arm saw about 30 years ago; it felt like the family jewels were hit by a hammer. Other than that I'm perfectly fine now, hasfad thowsdg, hjornf.
