Still Waters Posted June 12, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 12, 2014 Home video from a recent swamp boat tour in Louisiana shows a guide in the water feeding chicken and marshmallows to two alligators. The video has attracted the attention of local and state wildlife officials. http://www.usatoday....allow/10329789/

Q-C Posted June 12, 2014 #3 Share Posted June 12, 2014 (edited) It's wrong. The animals are usually the ones who lose out. He should be fined and maybe lose his license. Period. I'm sure this guy has been warned before, not for this technique, but for feeding the gators. Feeding the alligators chicken to attract them to the boats for the tourists isn't anything new. But doing it this way? Yeah, that's probably new. But dayyam! Imo watching the alligator "gently" or "carefully" taking the marshmallow from his mouth was pretty cool behavior. Sorry. I know someday it might be more bloody than cool, but that was pretty neat. On the alligator's part not the guy's. JVG Posted June 12, 2014 #4 Share Posted June 12, 2014 I noticed that the alligators were not that big but still why would you do something to put himself at risk.

Kenemet Posted June 12, 2014 #6 Share Posted June 12, 2014 It's one thing if this is in a park where the animals are known and contact is controlled. It's a different kettle of fish in the wild. And it creates danger for others.

Crabby Kitten Posted June 12, 2014 #8 Share Posted June 12, 2014 Those alligators look so sweet and huggable. Well that video made it like this. Really weird though. Who would've thought alligators were affectionate to humans like they were?

Purplos Posted June 13, 2014 #14 Share Posted June 13, 2014 Some men need to be issued a stamped card from god on high that says, "Yes, your junk really is big enough. Stop worrying." I feel bad for the alligators, because they'll probably end up being killed somewhere down the road as they start approaching people looking for more snacks.
