ISIS Threatens Nuke Attack of Israel

Yeah, but Castro brought Cuba out from being a colonial plaything of United Fruit, to a country with a better healthcare system than the 'mighty' USA (amongst other things).

The missiles may have been poor judgement, but that was 60 years ago. The missiles where removed, and yet the spiteful blockade remains even today.

Far from being a failure, Frank, Cuba was punished for being a socialist success story; something anathematic to the USA.

SSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

Uh, Cuba is a **** hole of a country. Castro didn't make it a paradise, he turned it into a mire. There is no such thing as a socialist success story.

Which I'm sure has so much to do with the ISIS performing suicide by threatening Israel, doesn't it?

Cuban citizens may not have access to the latest consumer products, certainly. But that is down to the blockade, not the governments social policies. Prior to Castro, Cuba was virtually a slave state, owned and controlled by United Fruit. Conditions for the citizens improved dramatically after the revolution.

The blockade makes a good excuse. All the money from Russia and then Venezuela never gets mentioned. I think even the Castro brothers realize something needs to be changed.

Besides, the blockade would not be hard to get the Americans to lift, especially now, if Cuba would behave itself. Vietnam is also Communist and has no such blockade on it.

Your incisive debating skills, and grasp of facts, will be greatly missed in your absence, Jeem. Just as they where missed in your presence. :w00t:

I am make fun of all races and religion just to have an laugh, but I am not racists or anti-semists, I respect all races and religions in retrospect depending on their actions as a whole. Muslims in the past decade have no fair well in my opinion of them, moderate muslums are cowardly while extremist are terrorists. They haven't done anything to improve my views upon them, I even told a muslum I know to my face that his religion as a whole hasn't even proved once that I can trust them and from what I understand, anyone who isn't an muslum is considered dogs and must be treated as an secondary class individual with no rights. They are hostile towards other religions and countries that are not under their religion, they have yet to prove other wise.

Until things turn around, the mythical moderate muslums stand up to the extremist muslums and rid the world of them, then I neither trust or respect any of them. Respect and trust is earned, not given.

"..... if ISIS actually tried to destroy the Ka'ba, they would be met with extraordinary opposition.”

That's got to be the understatement of the century ! :w00t:

This seems counter-productive for ISIS, makes me raise an eyebrow. This guy must have an psychopathic mind to think he is doing the will of his god, Allah, to destroy all places of worship towards Allah. All hell is going to break lose in Middle East...

ISIS could be doing these things to solidify their base of supporters.

"See? See how unbending and determined we are?" They might be trying to rile up the ultra-fanatic part of Islam (um, yeah, like there's much of a difference) all around the world.

I think ISIS should keep it up. Maybe they'll start THE ****-storm that will wipe them out AND the rest of the Islamic fanatics in one fell swoop, so that religion can stop being a death cult and grow up out of the 7th century. Maybe when it's done, the so-called moderate Islamists can finally prove they want to play nice with the rest of the world.

I agree with most of your statements, but I blame the M.E. culture more than the Muslim religion. The culture just breeds the fanatics who hide behind religion to fulfill their selfish desires. The majority of Muslims I've met that here in the U.S. are decent people anyway, if I were to compare them to Christians they would be the type who went to Church on Sundays, said their prayers before eating, celebrated the holidays and such, but weren't much more devout than that.

I can't help but note that there is precisely one story about this, that all the other stories source from, and that this story is from WND, which is as well known for breaking stories early as it is for breaking stories that don't actually turn out to be what they suspected (hey WND, protip: Just because journalism is "unique and aggressive", it doesn't actually make it good journalism).

The almost three week old story has not had any further news, which is understandable, because even though the headline is an ear-ctaching "Iraq Invaders Threaten Nuke Attack on Israel", the actual statement is:

The WND source said ISIS appears “eager” to fight Israeli armed forces “in the near future despite expectation that the regime will use nuclear weapons.”

“Do you think that we do not have access to nuclear devices?” Lamb quoted the ISIS member as saying. “The Zionists know that we do, and if we ever believe they are about to use theirs, we will not hesitate. After the Zionists are gone, Palestine will have to be decontaminated and rebuilt just like areas where there has been radiation released.”

Which is less a threat and more of a tit-for-tat "If you do it, we'll do it" sort of thing.

I think you are dead on with this assessment. The culture there seems to hate any sign of weakness. I guess the only way they survived the harshness of their geography may have led to this. But our western sentiments of showing kindness or mercy seems to be ridiculed. It's the sad truth that the only way there will ever be quiet there is when the Palestinians have been removed totally from the land and pushed into Egypt, Syria, Jordan, etc. Since these "brotherly" Arab neighbors hate them as well, it will require a general war in the region and then continued military superiority for Israel far into the future. Either this OR Israel would need to just give up and walk away back into a worldwide diaspora again. Sad.

Yeah - it's just an idle threat. IF a group like this ever got hands on one and had the expertise to deploy it though.... imagine the world chaos that would follow. Unlike the US or most western countries, the Israelis would NUKE someone they considered to be the source - they might even nuke SEVERAL they thought culpable. "in for a penny" attitude, ya know?

Let them build their "islamic state", then flatten it taking them all out at once. Or blockade them in and let them fight each other over supplies. Much easier and cheaper than chasing them all over the continent.

ISIS is comprised of Sunni's and the mosques they are destroying are Shia - they will limit their targets to Shia Holy sites. Personally, I think they are shooting themselves in the foot, but if they want to fight Muslim to Muslim, fine have at it. The West can stay out of it as long as it is about "internal bickering", in fact, it can't do anything but stay out of it as involvement would lead to the West choosing between Sunni and Shia at this particular point and that is a religious matter.

Can you at least stay in Basra after you do the flattening or are you going to abandon your allies again when it's politically expedient?

I believe they've said they want to destroy some of the shrines in Mecca. Plus it's not just Shia shires that are being destroyed. ISIS is also destroying Assyrian artifacts and are threatening to destroy the contents of museums and historical sites. Thousands of years of history from some of humanities first civilizations may be destroyed because it doesn't fit their "perfect" world.

ISIS can destroy religious sites and fight other muslims...I doubt this will result in western intervention. However, if they use a 'dirty bomb' then all bets are off. Like I said before, use the nuclear option and it will probably be their last action.

Weeeeeell..... I don't want to sound complacent, but if this really is standard university 'marker' isotopes, then they really don't pose a threat, even in a "dirty" bomb. We're talking VERY low grade, 'natural' uranium.

I hope. :unsure2:

Yes, well we know how Muslims regard the artifacts of other cultures outside Islam. I'm still smarting over the removal of the 2 Buddhas in Afghanistan. I really can't believe we let that happen.

If they have been truthful about this material then I agree, it's really just a nuisance but can you even imagine how the world press would hype such an event? The chilling thing to me is that once Iran decides to assemble a weapon we will never be sure from that point onward what the actual risk is anymore. They could try to pass one to a proxy group for use in Europe or the US or they might get inadvertently have a nuclear exchange with Israel due to miscalculation.
