Still Waters Posted July 16, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 16, 2014 The FBI believes that the driverless car is a "game changing" vehicle could revolutionise high-speed car chases within a matter of years, along with fears that autonomous cars may be used as "lethal weapons". http://www.theguardi...pons-autonomous
Taun Posted July 16, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 16, 2014 I'm more concerned with one having a system error and "going berserk" than I am one being intentionally guided to hurt people...

CuriousRey Posted July 16, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 16, 2014 I can imagine one being rigged with explosive devices of some sort, gives suicide bombers a bit of a break.
aquatus1 Posted July 17, 2014 #5 Share Posted July 17, 2014 I would have thought driverless cars would have made policing easier, not harder. How difficult would it be to program a car too shut down if it is being chased at high speeds, or to shut down if it is going at ramming speed directly at an obstacle? Heck, isn't this part of the basic package for a driverless car to begin with? Not speeding and not crashing into things?
