Though it appears that the whole Chupa thing may be based on somebody seeing the movie Species. She said that she saw the alien on the street at the time when the movie was out so she probably just saw a fan in a costume. Then it spiraled out of control and people started seeing Chupas everywhere, at least in Puerto Rico. ...yes.
