Poppi Posted December 19, 2016 #3677 Share Posted December 19, 2016 (edited) As predicted - a Chinook has rolled in...Couple nights ago it was -28c with a wind chill well into the -40's. Today it is -1 with wind chill of -9, and the snow is being eaten by the wind (wonder how important Chinooks are to world weather)...But, there are severe wind warnings all around the area. Easy 100kph winds, which often tip over semi trailers/close highways. Can't do ladder work - would blow you over...Some people get horrible headaches associated with the high pressure...stories of early settlers killing themselves because of Chinooks. Things took a downturn today with a high of 45 and they are saying a low of about 40 tonight.
