NASA = never a straight answer

Recommended Posts

NASA has spent a lot of time explaining why curiosity's wheels are wearing so badly.

I am sure NASA has spent millions on making these wheels only to watch them come apart with the explanation of sharp rocks.

I think curiosity is making trips to strange Mars items, and the public is not being told.

I believe there is more miles on curiosity then the public knows.

I believe the landscape is full of items from a destroyed civilization.

This is just my opinion, no proof, but lots of strange curiosity photos have been posted.

And people like you can't see the truth because you can't see past your fringe.

Mars is another planet, there is a million and one factors affecting the rover that no one here could have imagined courtesy of the unique conditions on Mars. Unusual for Earth tire wear? Well that could more easily be explained by the geology of the terrain rather then "secret missions".

of course that doesn't mean much to you

I am sure NASA has spent millions on making these wheels only to watch them come apart with the explanation of sharp rocks.

a different planet with a different landscape than what were used to, wear and tear is expected, even more so with things like this

I think curiosity is making trips to strange Mars items, and the public is not being told.

and i think it's not and the public isn't being told because there is nothing to tell

I believe there is more miles on curiosity then the public knows.

annnnnnnd if there is so what? if i told you my truck have 215000km on it but its really only 214000km who gives a damn oops more than i thought im not all of a sudden in a secret military group making short trips in my truck without anybody knowing.... or on another planet checking out all the cool squirrels...

I believe the landscape is full of items from a destroyed civilization.

if it was we would have seen it before the rover even touched down and just so this is clear its you saying its FULL of items... welp i haven't seen ****

This is just my opinion, no proof, but lots of strange curiosity photos have been posted.

there we go.

lots of "strange" photos have been taking and ohhhh about 99.99% of the weird or strange ones are BS

What about the hundreds of millions of non-strange photos... that match observed features as seen through telescopes (no third party interfering and no possible photoshopping?)

I remember a few mysteries spotted in the mars pictures taken by the rover while Nasa experts have resumed to making suppositions instead of moving the rover a few meters away to take closer screenshots. They want to send a new rover in a new expedition; while i applaud this initiative i must say, please make some changes in the staffing and approach, make it more curious and Add some enthusiasm!

I agree with this statement, especially with moon conspiracies. Every moon conspiracionist should just buy a professional telescope and check it for themselves. In fact he she they should ask for donations. I bet tons of real scientist would spare a few bucks just to help themselves realizing they were wrong.... Or not... :)

To misquote Carl Sagan - an Astronomer can make a career out of proving UFOlogists wrong, but provide them with the material to prove themselves wrong?"

They are all faked ! Check Nostradamus book The Greatest Hits, page 27.145

So Kpak, you are not coming back to give a specific example of the 'deceit' you claim?

Just post your favorite example, and let's take a look, shall we?

If all the images are faked, the image faking department of NASA must be truly huge and employ some of the most talented Photoshop specialist available.

On the other hand I guess they have had a lot of practice from when they faked all the Apollo images.

I applied to work in the Image Faking Department (IFD), they had us fill out applications on the sound stage.

In defense of NASA. When exploring there's not always going to be a straight answers. Its really a game of blues clues . Others have made very good points in this thread so I'm not going to reiterate what they have already said.

You are not thinking here! Curiosity has a mission to do and it isn't wandering off to take a peek at a reflected light that could be miles and months in the distance. Do you realize how long it would take to get to some of the sparkly geegaws that get you so excited? Weeks or months over unmapped terrain to finally get where? The sun will have shifted and the light no longer reflects of the flat rock and Curiosity is sitting in a desert with no mission and NASA looks like idiots. Well played. This is why people like you are not on the science team

Get serious and start thinking rationally. Learn how the vehicle is steered and how hard it is to get from point A to point B. As for the OP I won't even bother to comment because it is so utterly ridiculous it isn't worth comment.

Sry i have hard time accepting this reality. I do not agree to this type of approach. Never!

It is not scientifically healthy to be distracted by the prospect of achieving given goals or focus on the big picture while smaller details or glimpses of reality can be Earthshaking.

The simplest example is this:

The main goal of the rover was to discover signs of past life on Mars. Been over 10 years of prospecting Mars. In fact a simple picture like one of this examples should have been extremely relevant. All that it takes was moving the rover a few meters away. Why not?

Sorry, you are wrong and painfully so. Merc explained it pretty well. The missions are planned out and you can't just side track because a bunch of people believe they see something interesting in images they do not understand how to analyze. NASA scientists do.

And, frankly, that the acronym NASA should be synonymous with Never A Straight Answer is straight out of the book of those that actually do not understand (or more often, want to understand) a straight answer. NASA gives straight answers, it is not NASA's fault that people either do not have the intellectual capability or willingness to understand what they are told. Nor, am I sure, does NASA really care because such people have no impact on science anyways.

Cheers,

Badeskov

That wasn't its mission. See you haven't even taken the time to figure out what its primary mission is yet you pass judgement. http://mars.jpl.nasa.gov/msl/mission/science/goals/ What exactly do you think was a few meters away that has you so excited?

This was one of them.

We had a long thread on that anomaly and it isn't a fossil. The segments are all screwed up. It took a picture and the geologists explained it. End of mystery. Anyways, what did you expect it to do other than take the photo? Drill it? Laser it? If its a fossil, what does that prove? Think! BTW, Curiosity 2 (no name chosen yet) is built to explore for life and due to launch this decade.

Just post your favorite example, and let's take a look, shall we?

Kpak, I can see you have been back to this thread, and had plenty of time to respond.. I hope that isn't because you don't have even one example of the claimed deceit... that would mean that you started a thread based on absolutely nothing but your 'vibrant imagination'.. (I was going to use another term but I better be polite..)

So, when will you give examples to back up the claims? BTW, a few questions for you - do you know how spacecraft like Curiosity and Opportunity send back their data? And who receives it and posts the initial data? And who *can* receive it? Are you aware of the 'crowdsourcing' that they use for the reams and reams of data that is streaming in daily from all the craft out there, including Hubble, SOHO, Stereo, etc, etc?

Just how much *do* you know about NASA operations and how all this stuff *actually* works?

Perhaps instead of criticising out of ignorance, you should join in the investigative effort and start poring over the data as it comes in, like so many others do. (But I'd suggest you take the time to learn a bit more about imaging, planetary geology etc..)

That way, it might be YOU that finds the big one.. :)

ChrLzs, my computer time can be limited, so I have to be quick.

Curiosity is just not curious.

I am not the government, so I have no input, no say.

Do they still limit computer time in jails ? Could be a reason so many threads are limited in scope and facts. :tu:
