Still Waters Posted August 26, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2014 The Madagascar pochard, the world's rarest bird, will not be able to thrive without a new wetland home. This is according to a study revealing that 96% of the chicks are dying at two to three weeks old. Conservationists say that human activity has driven the birds to one remaining wetland, but that that site has insufficient food for the ducks. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/28897118

Abramelin Posted August 26, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 26, 2014 Adapt or die off. That's why I love crows, jays, magpies, rooks, jackdaws, ravens: they adapt faster than most humans can to a changing environment. Instead of moaning about some animal not able to adapt to our changes in the environment, let's admire those that can. And, of course, that includes rats. Well if humans didn't steamroll everything into extinction they wouldn't have to adapt.
