UM-Bot Posted March 9, 2003 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2003 Sir Patrick Moore was born in 1923 and has presented The Sky at Night on the BBC for more than 45 years. Because of a childhood illness, he was educated at home; aged 11, he was made the youngest member of the British Astronomical Association and became its president 50 years later. He has written more than 100 books, is a prolific composer and used to need little encouragement to show off his skills as a xylophone-player. Druss Posted March 9, 2003 #2 Share Posted March 9, 2003 I liked his reply to this question Why are we here? Peter Smith, Warwick Because Earth suits us. Earth is just right for our kind of life. If it weren't, we'd be somewhere else.

StarChild Posted March 13, 2003 #4 Share Posted March 13, 2003 Hmmm.... I've never heard of this guy before but he seams to have all his marbles lined up correctly. I totally agree with the non-militerization of space comment and his anti-war views. Common people now....smile on your brother......
