How Gun Control Made England The Most Violent

The Yanks love their guns and this love of guns is alien to the British public, its a cultural thing. but to try and portray England (UK) as a more violent society because we have tight gun laws is mad and shows the gun lobby in the US is clutching at straws.

Now you know how dumb it sounds to us when people try to claim it's like the wild west over here.

How you feel right now about this thread

All the stats people show about our gun violence is very misleading anyways.

First off its the homicide and crime rate that matter. No one cares how many times your more likely to be killed by a gun they care how many times your more likely to be killed in general.

Second these stats normally count suicide deaths. Which is really short sighted when people think that these sucicdes would of not happened without a gun. All the suicides iv known in my life never even used a gun. When your at that point you'll find a way it's not hard.

Thirdly when people defend themselves with guns it still shows up on the statistics. So we don't know how much of those stats where people actually being safe due to a gun.

And then take whatever left and you can pretty much point to acouple inner citie spots where it's all happening.

Even though our crime has been on the decline. With a gun increase

Spartan every one of your supposed complaints about the stats has been dealt with and shown to be false. End of story really.

Your statistics are unintentionally padded because something like a shoving match outside a pub is counted as a crime of violence.

Indeed - making Britain a relatively crime free country in reality.

Impossible.... how can it be relatively crime free if nobody has at least 2 handguns and an AR 15?

The fact of the matter is that it is about as likely to be victim of a crime other than getting a punch on the nose in Britain as it is in the US... it is just less likely that somebody gets shot in the proceeding.

What a load of rubbish. The UK isn't even close to being the most violent country in Europe. Especially with gun crime.

Even in the most violent places in the country, getting shot at or even seeing someone with a gun is extremely unlikely.

People do tend to forget that these sorts of polls usually are referring to developed, first world, countries. Violence, especially gun violence, beggars the imagination in less developed countries.
