Subsonicjourno Posted November 25, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 25, 2014 http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/loud-bang-explosion-manchester-salford--8168483 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-30189831 A mysterious explosion heard across parts of Manchester and Salford remains unexplained. Hundreds of people took to social media to describe hearing a "loud bang" at about 22:30 GMT on Monday. Firefighters were called after a report in the Weaste area of Salford but later admitted they could find no evidence of a fire, or any other disturbance Meteor exploding in the atmosphere would be my guess. 1 Top

DemonicCupcake Posted November 30, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 30, 2014 I recall hearing about other instances of this from around the world. Anybody have the article from this past year? It was about a town in America where people heard these unexplained explosions on the horizon of the ocean all the time, and never found a real explanation. 2 Top

Mantis914 Posted December 1, 2014 #15 Share Posted December 1, 2014 I remember this from about 4 years ago in my area. I wrote to the reporter shortly after the article came out for a follow up but unfortunately, he had moved to another news outlet... http://www.dallasnews.com/news/community-news/dallas/headlines/20100603-West-Dallas-residents-seek-answers-about-1311.ece 1 Top
skookum Posted December 1, 2014 #16 Share Posted December 1, 2014 I was woken up by this. My initial thought was the clay pigeon shooting that goes on around here. Then I looked at the clock and thought a party was ending. My partner woke and I said to her 'what irresponsible idiot ends a party at this time in the morning with fireworks?'. How weird. Maff Posted December 1, 2014 #18 Share Posted December 1, 2014 I live in the UK. We have had two big sonic booms in the last two years. Last one happened only a few weeks ago in response to a Albanian cargo plane which wasn't where it should have been so they scrambled a jet, which went sonic. Both times they have gone public and explained it. It was loud, but sounded like a big truck. It did pop the door open to our store, but nothing amazing. There have been a lot of plane type incidents from international posturing between a few countries so the powers that be are a bit jumpy.. Would have thought the ministry of defence will not always want to make public everything they respond to.
Nzo Posted December 1, 2014 #19 Share Posted December 1, 2014 Everyone thought that Voldemort was dead. Please! There was an 8th Horcrux. He made it as soon as he realized the other 7 were to be disposed of. He's back and he is p***ed! Those sounds are the sounds of battle mages fighting all over britain. No need to conceal themselves anymore Fear and quake in your slippers, all muggles will now be under his dominion! Dark days to come, dark days... where is Hagrid with my mead?! seeder Posted December 1, 2014 #20 Share Posted December 1, 2014 (edited) Is this proof mysterious bangs heard on both sides of Atlantic WERE caused by a top-secret jet? Footage of hypersonic engine in action reveals it sounds almost identical to unexplained noises Sounds reported at the weekend from Aberdeen to Devon in the UK Loud booms were also reported over Buffalo and Lockport in New York Twitter users blamed meteors, fireworks, aliens and 'the end of the world' A woman in south London managed to record the mysterious bangs An expert told MailOnline the noises sound like a 'pulse detonation engine' http://www.dailymail...l#ixzz3KeWaCx00 And So secret, its existence is not even acknowledged: Futuristic 'Aurora' spy plane that travels at SIX TIMES the speed of sound is blamed for mysterious booms heard at the weekend http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2855795/So-secret-existence-not-acknowledged-Futuristic-Aurora-spy-plane-travels-SIX-TIMES-speed-sound-blamed-mysterious-booms-heard-weekend.html#ixzz3KeX7LE7F Edited December 1, 2014 by seeder 3 Top
skookum Posted December 1, 2014 #21 Share Posted December 1, 2014 This story has really taken me having now heard it myself. When had the bang of Manchester around the 25th November, the mystery explosion over Russia about a week back. The A1 shut Saturday due to an explosion which although detonators have been found in a search the explosion is still being classed as a mystery. Now we have these bangs over the UK all weekend. It was Saturday evening which I heard at work and I heard the same thing recorded in the article early this morning, 01:58. What on earth is going on. It is not just a one off event it is continuing and seems to be increasing in frequency of reported events.
qxcontinuum Posted December 1, 2014 #22 Share Posted December 1, 2014 Listening to this video there is one thing I recall while i was serving in the Army; anti aerial defence rounds shoot during a night exercise. Or might have been as well shots with purpose but to me those noises were clearly guns.
Stephen Motson Posted December 1, 2014 #23 Share Posted December 1, 2014 (edited) There was one reported in nearby Catterick, North Yorkshire, close to the army base on Saturday. Following numerous reports of an explosion, police closed off the A1 thinking a bomb had gone off. Apart from finding some old detonators, they still have no explanation for the loud bang. Not that Im saying this is what it is... Locals in Oldham, Greater Manchester report late night explosion in street Two manhole covers were blown into the air as flames leapt from road Residents say fallout could have been much worse if blast was in daytime More than 1,000 homes temporarily lost power as a result of the explosion Witnesses say driver on road 'thought he was going to die' in blast http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2855811/Flames-burst-street-underground-explosion-blows-two-manhole-covers-air-one-MILE-apart.html#ixzz3KeblNug7
Oxo1 Posted December 1, 2014 #25 Share Posted December 1, 2014 (edited) It could have been the Mach 6 Aurora SR72 spy plane flying over the UK, and the resultant bangs could have been due to it's pulse detonation engine. Just thought I would put my weight behind that theory. Edited December 1, 2014 by Oxo1
