What if I only like one point, would you be interested in a parenthesis?

Oiy ... who let the French in 'ere ?

Indeed... where's my freedom fries?

(French words! like money! (from the French 'monnaie'), how's about liberalism? capitalism? materialism? nationalism? plebiscite, coup d'état, regime, sovereignty, justice, judge, jury, attorney, court, case - and attaché, chargé d'affaires, envoy, embassy, chancery, diplomacy, démarche, communiqué, aide-mémoire, détente, entente, rapprochement, accord, treaty, alliance, passport, protocol, surrealism, impressionism, fauvism, cubism, symbolism, art nouveau, gouache, aquarelle, collage, grisaille…aisle, arcade, arch, vault, belfry (in which I'm sure there are bats), arc-boutant, buttress, bay, estrade, facade, balustrade, terrace, lunette, niche, pavilion, pilaster, porte cochère, even Veal, beef, pork, mutton, petit four, soufflé, mille-feuille, croissant, pastry, gateau, baba au rhum, cream, caramel, custard, marmalade, meringue, clafoutis, flognarde, beef bourguignon, cassoulet, casserole, confit, gratin, mustard, mayonnaise, sauce, pâté, foie gras, terrine, navarin, and hey: ecru, mauve, beige, carmine, maroon, blue, orange, violet, vermilion, turquoise, lilac, perse, scarlet, cerise) ; vegetables or fruits (courgette, aubergine, cabbage, carrot, cherry, chestnut, nutmeg, quince, lemon, orange, apricot); months of the year (January, March, May, July, November, December)... words like that?

or cinema? television? helicopter? bathyscaphe (you're gonna need one); lactose? bacteriophage! (with which you are probably familiar - another french word! or chlorophyll, for God's sake... mastodon? oxygen? hydrogen? yep... and carbon, photography, stethoscope, thermometer, troposphere... ampere? baud? (admittedly something you don't see everyday - or becquerel, coulomb, curie - Madame, not the East Indian staple spice - and yum! just thinking about the possibilities) and don't forget daguerreotype, pascal, pasteurise, vernier, begonia, bougainvillea, clementine, magnolia, dolomite, nicotine? even leotard - your knickers - even recamier! mansard! chauvinism, praline, saxophone, silhouette? Ypres? Bruges? Turin? YES! and Milan, Venice, Plaisance, Florence, Rome, Naples, Syracuse, Vienna, Prague, Munich, Cologne, Aix-la-Chapelle, Seville, Constantinople, The Hague?

need I go on?)

Oiy?

Is it truly a French word if it came from Latin or Greek?

Pourquoi pas ? if you wanna dig deep enough etymological roots would likely erase all "language" monikers/identifiers, like, "before Greek, Latin we had peculiarly specific grunts and groans, and a lot of pointing" - who the hell's is that?

The French? But doesn't the Cro-Magnon name come from Occitan?

So, where's the line where the logic gets reversed? If we can't go back to Latin to call Latin words Latin, but we can go back to French, can we go back to Occitan or it's just French now too?

good answer.... raises valid points... but hasn't that whole Languedoc realm proven to be overly Cathartic?

it's just French now too?

What in the name of God are you rambling about?

not to elicit any unwarranted other-worldly attention? but that was just a little attempt at playfulness - with words - by blurring topics - to be explained later perhaps?

Ayayayayaaaaaay, who's back?!

Who is back?!!

*all tentacle hug* no slime!

Of course it's a virtue and also it's good for selfish people too because who can carry a couch by themselves?

It's not just the weight, it's the size and shape and **** that until you have some someone, anyone, to cut the weight more than just in half and turn the frustrating lonely failure into simple, relieving fun for everyone included, except the guy who didn't believe us when we yelled: "Tiiimbeeeeer" before we dropped the ****er off the second floor balcony... the couch, not the guy, I never dropped a person off the balcony... deliberately... never mind... anyone has a couch that needs moving, destroying or just taking for a walk?

Not even if I promise I'll be extra careful and put everything back in its place when I'm done with it?

edit: Who? You, ouija, me or the couch?

I may be a lot of things, but 'unwieldy' is surely not one of them ..... is it?

Change? How cheap do you think ouija is?

If I may ask, not for me, of course, I'm asking for a friend - exactly how much change we're talking about?

Does the phrase 'cheap as chips' ring any bells?
