Not really, I was usually in the same sentences with sacks of potatoes, not that fancy chips thing, if you'd believe chips was considered fancy over here?

Do you only eat RAW potatoes over there then? (I can't believe there are no adventurous gourmets there who could think of somethng other than simply digging them up and putting them straight into the mouth).

No, no, you eat them raw only when you need to avoid work or family by being sick, while on other days - didn't you hear of baked or mashed potatoes to start with?

Usually no, I don't think at all, but if you insist... are you too a part of conspiracy to keep me up this late now?

No, we're too South, but that meteor that fell in Germany on Monday, it was visible from over here too, only I missed it which is not that bad and it missed me, which would be just good or surprising?

We're on the train? Really? All right, wake me up when we arrive, will you? Or don't, I always wondered - what do they do with the passangers fast asleep at the end of ride? Do they wake them up and toss them out or they toss them out without waking them up, or they leave them there and if so, do they check their pulse, do they clean around them or move them to the side, clean and put back where they found them?

We're on the train? Really???

no, not 'on a train' - you were dreaming - ever heard of a 'figure of speech'?

Nope, are they more like ice or ice-skating figures?

Was it 1978 or 1798 when you patted your toes for the last time?

Isn't 1798 the year you retired?

How should I know? Neither I was there, nor I speak any English, so why don't we ask OS what he competed at?
