Love's embrace awaits

I recommended these piles

suggest a pennant swirling

in breezy windsong

mosses in my hair

if you hear me sing you will

never speak again

(Rusalke are water fairies. They can appear in various forms and can do many good things, such as make the soil fertile just by sprinkling water on it, but they can also lure people into their lakes or streams and drown them. Depending on who has deserved what, naturally. They sing, dance and play a lot, which is wonderful if they are not in their old hag form, of course, but the one who hears their song will lose their ability to speak.)

never speak again

the hermit's trail winds upwards

into cliffs and clouds

*Helen I truly love hearing your regional folk stories and mythologies.  Thank you for sharing them and including references in the haikku; it enriches the content wonderfully.

You are most kind :)  Sometimes I worry I'm boring already with another local folk reference, but my mind seems to think in images that are for large part from our tradition.

horizons glisten
