Creating an sophisticated computer program is one thing, but creating a free thinking AI that has conscious thought I think is still a while away. Still can't come close to the processing power of the brain. All the thing's it's doing second by second would be impossible for current technology no?

The Tech Singularity is one of the few conspiracy theories that I actually think might be plausible. And it's scary.

Kurzweil seems to think it's gonna happen in 2045. Others think he's off his rocker. The guy is rather smart, though.
